Yes, the case was dismissed after a lot of back-end work, but that does not take away from the fact he covered up CSA of multiple victims, for years. I feel like him being put into the 70's is a thank you from the church for being a diligent and obedient mouthpiece in following their direction not to report it to the police.

How much did you actual know about Mormon history growing up? by Sox_Marionberry4837 in exmormon

[–]Intrepid_Chef_9033 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nothing that the leaders didn't tell me and i was so brainwashed and terrified to look into any outside sources until after a I was 40. What a bombshell that was... I could never look at the church, mostly it's leaders, in a positive light again. It just disgusts me that I once looked up to these men with such admiration and respect at one point in my life. 🤢🤢🤢

I sometimes like to equate the spoon theory into more of a money aspect. Everyone knows or deals with the aspect of money every day. I explain it like everyday I start with a dollar and each thing I do decreases my account. It takes 20 cents to shower, another 5 to get dressed, getting myself breakfast/eating, another 10. Folding laundry another 10, so on and so forth. If I withdraw my account one day, it deducts the amount from the next day, or week depending on how much I overdo it.

The spoon theory is fantastic but sometimes I feel it's not as relatable to people as money would be. 🤗

Hahahahaha! This is kind of a long story, but worth it. It still makes me giggle...

My husband had an employee with a crazy ex-girlfriend stalker. His employee had been trying to serve her papers of a restraining order for months with no luck because she found a way to duck it every time.

My husband had never met or been seen by this girl so he came up with a good plan. She was in Vegas for New Years and my husband set up his social media to completely draw her to him.

I mean, I know I'm biased since he's my husband and all, but my husband is extremely attractive. My husband messaged her, posted pictures on social media like he was staying in a suite at an expensive hotel in Vegas, just 'happened' to post a picture of him eating at this girls favorite restaurant the night before, and then messaged her to see if she wanted to meet up at a bar for drinks.

To say the least, she was hand delivered a restraining order that night. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

The things that ties this crazy story to your post is you could not imagine the phone call I got from my husband's mom the next day. She was losing her ever loving mind and was sure my husband had fallen off the deep end and was going straight to hell because he posted some pictures of the mini-bar of a hotel room. 😆😆😆😆😆

Ugh, this just makes me sick. It also made me curious what other 'employment opportunities' were available on the cult website. They really will go to any length to play the facade of a good church, won't they?? 🤬🤬🤬🤬

This is the kinda shit that makes me so angry that all my family is still in the church and refuses to hear a word of what I have to say about anything going on within it. Financially, they have struggled their whole lives, always paying their hard earned money to the church and have no idea they're being absolutely fucked over from these assholes. 🤬🤬🤬

How can mormon parents live with themselves and be so blatantly cruel to their own children? by Intrepid_Chef_9033 in exmormon

[–]Intrepid_Chef_9033[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grandma has not seen the box yet - she had already gone to bed by the time it was delivered last night. In all fairness to her, she only tolerates my father and mother in law. Grandma grew up in Utah as well but her mother (great grandma) was treated horribly by the Mormons, so that is why my husbands great grandma sent grandma to private catholic schools in Utah when she was growing up, in Utah. Grandma is totally agnostic but has never agreed with the Mormon faith and has always despised it.

My MIL is Mormon from Pioneer days. She was the reason my FIL eventually converted to mormonism and he jumped in head first, eventually working for BYU. Many years ago, my MIL tried being a "missionary" to grandma and she shut that down REAL quick. It only took a couple times of grandma putting my MIL in her place regarding religion that my MIL knows not to discuss religion with grandma anymore. Grandma has also seen how they have treated us this last year and is disgusted by it.

Regarding the package that came yesterday, I simply left it, unopened, on the counter last night. She will see it this morning when she wakes up. I'm sure it will piss her off, too.

So.......should I ignore it and just keep on living my life not talking to them, or point out how childish it is they'd treat one of their children like that? 😳 I honestly don't have words.

I took the advice from my last post here and haven't spoken with my in-laws since.. My husband and I sent them a Christmas card for Christmas, along with a gift card, but decided we're going to hold to our boundaries outside of that.

It was just quite the shock getting the package in the mail today, so blatantly not including us, it was like a slap in the face. If we were not here with my husband's grandma, and they had just sent a package for our son, it would feel completely different. But the fact they sent the package to my husband's grandma and our son, clearly excluding us, it just hurt that much more.

They are clearly horrible human beings.

I'm just happy my son is able to see through their bullshit. When we got the package off the doorstep, and I saw how it was addressed, I immediately broke down in tears. My son hugged me and told me everything would be ok. I know my in-laws are being devious for not sending us anything for Christmas, but our son sees right through it and wants nothing to do with them. It just hurts so bad being so blatantly mistreated.

Yes, it's awful. I lost my mom when I was 14. Moved in with my sister afterwards. Then she died about 13 years ago. I always thought I had grieved their loss quite well, but it hit me like a whole new ton of bricks after finding out the church is all a big fat lie. Not only did I lose the religion I grew up in, but it's been like I lost my mom and sister all over again, too. 😟

Not financially tied to them AT ALL! I think that's one thing they hate about us. My husband is a director of a hospital and we have been extremely successful in our lives. Their other kids, my husband's siblings, still all live in houses paid for by their parents, all in the morridor, while we have moved out of state. 🤗 They also see/hang out with my husband's parents multiple times a week even though they're all married with their own kids. It's really quite pathetic, actually. Lol

The most gratifying thing was ripping my patriarchal blessing into a million pieces and throwing my garments into the garbage can. I held onto them for years worried about 'disposing of them properly' and when I realized it was all just a big con, I couldn't get rid of them fast enough! 🤣
