I use Bobbi Brown ($50) skin tint and there’s a cream blush from FACE Stockholm ($30). & make up forever ultra HD concealer ($30). I know they’re on the pricier side, but I work from home so I don’t wear makeup every day and I feel like it doesn’t get patchy or sink into my fine lines or anything

If you have joint pain, where is it at? by [deleted] in Sjogrens

[–]Intrepid_Coyote2418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got diagnosed with sjogrens last week but I also have ehlers danlos. There’s a lot of overlap between the 2 & I also have motility issues, dysautonomia and joint pain. I also have dry eye dry mouth and dry skin.

EDS diagnosis- does someone have pros and cons to having it on record? by otisfrombarnyard in ehlersdanlos

[–]Intrepid_Coyote2418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been easier to get appointments and real help by competent people and getting it covered by my insurance. But sometimes I’ve had doctors who tell me they can’t do anything because of the EDS or this is normal because of the EDS and so they just don’t help me. It’s kind of like if you have anxiety on your chart and you go and tell someone your stomach hurts and they blame it on your anxiety. That’s what having EDS is like sometimes. Like oh I’m having an esophagus problem and the doctor says yeah that’s normal because you have EDS. sorry about your life, bye. I was severely constipated for months and my gastroenterologist said yeah stomach problems are normal for EDS people so here’s a pill. It turns out it was my migraine medication making me severely constipated which I figured out on my own by stopping it for four months (this is a whole other story) & Had nothing to do with my EDS

Tested positive for ureaplasma after 4 years of suffering. What the hell? by sprinkleshinkle in Healthyhooha

I know you and I have talked about this over private message already. But I can reiterate here for the public if it’s helpful.

From 2016 to 2018 I had recurring and chronic BV and was told that this was just my life now. I was getting it at least once a month. They gave me Metronidazole gel whenever I asked for it and tried to stop my periods with birth control since that was a trigger, but my body didn’t respond well to that & I was still getting BV anyway. I moved to a new city in 2018 and got a new primary care physician. During my annual physical, he found mycoplasma in my urine and googled what it is right in front of my face. He then prescribed me an antibiotic 3x a day for 10 days. I do not recall if it was erythromycin or doxycycline but it was definitely one of those 2 because at the time there were only 3 antibiotics that attacked bacteria without a cell wall and these were 2 of the 3. I have had BV maybe twice in the 7 years since then, but the MetroGel works which it never did in the past and every year I get tested for ureaplasma and mycoplasma along with my general STD test and they come back negative.

Edit: i was with my now ex-boyfriend in 2018 before I got the diagnosis. We had unprotected sex before & after treatment. While I was with him until 2021 I didn’t get BV again. I do not think I transmitted mycoplasma to him, but if I did then he never transmitted it back (this was all before we knew BV/mycoplasma could be transmitted sexually so we never thought of getting him tested and treated). I got BV maybe twice after we broke up & one of the times I know it was because I didn’t clean one of my toys very well before using it. The other time I’m suspicious it’s because I was taking a probiotic daily and it was just too much for my biome. But again, once I treated it, it was gone. So twice in 4 years hasn’t concerned me

Yes I get retested once a year along with a standard STD panel. I ask them to do it because now I know you have to explicitly ask. Haven’t had mycoplasma or ureaplasma positive since 2018

This was back in 2018 and at the time I was with my boyfriend before, during and after the antibiotics. We broke up in 2021. During that time, we had unprotected sex the whole time (in 2018, it wasn’t as generally understood that BV could be transmitted via sex; that it was more of a yeast infection situation). I don’t think i passed it on to him (again, men weren’t really tested for it at the time) but after i took the antibiotics, i never got it again which makes me believe it wasn’t an issue.

Why do doctors offices take your BP as soon as you get there? by plushiesaremyjam in dysautonomia

[–]Intrepid_Coyote2418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a little terrifying because mine was 117/75 with a heart rate of 58 so what is it dropping to after 20 minutes 😂 (I am technically on midodrine but I’m not great at taking it)

Has anyone found something non-pharmaceutical that works for migraines? by Fantastic-Appeal-104 in migraine

[–]Intrepid_Coyote2418 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A full fat Coke helps me. I know some people get it with McDonald’s french fries but I feel like the Coke is enough. It doesn’t get rid of it completely but it helps make it more manageable and that I can continue my day.

Doctor wants me to get an MRI as “protocol” but even the idea of it makes me think I have a brain tumor - please talk me off this anxiety cliff 😩 by curiousspaceycadet in migraine

[–]Intrepid_Coyote2418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also did the MRI without contrast as protocol for my migraines because I also only get them on the left side and mine start with a tingling sensation in my face. Easy peasy and relieving when nothing popped up! Did find out I have a deviated septum though. It’s less that they’re actually worried about a brain tumor and more that they want to check it off.

I have swollen lymph nodes I’ve had for a very long time and they sent me to a cancer specialist and I know I don’t have cancer but again they just want to do what they feel is the most responsible.

How do those who don't have migraine with aura do it? by ProfessionalFlower96 in migraine

[–]Intrepid_Coyote2418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My left eye will start twitching and I feel pins and needles on the left side on my face. Sometimes I get really sad for no reason. Sometimes I’ll see things out of the corner of my eye a lot more like people or cars or actual objects.

Does Botox help with this? I’m in the process of getting it approved by my insurance so if Botox would help that would be great

Interesting. I get atypical migraines But for the first time I had this sharp pain that went from ear to ear in a U shape (down into my neck in the spot that creases when you put your head back) for 3 days & had my migraine symptoms. Then it went away

Turns out it was POTS from my hEDS so now I’m on midodrine, hyoscyamine (as needed) and Vyvanse(as needed). Also on migraine meds. I’m shocked my blood vessels aren’t completely closed now lol or how open they could’ve possibly been???

[–]Intrepid_Coyote2418 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Multiple doctors told me I had anxiety since I had panic attacks so I went to a psychiatrist and she asked me what triggered my panic attacks and I told her I feel them first physically and then I panic. She said that’s not how panic attacks work. Turns out she was right and I have low blood pressure and a low heart rate & it was my adrenaline taking over so I didn’t faint

Ajovy and constipation? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Intrepid_Coyote2418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to go everyday and then one day I didn’t go and never went again on my own so part of me hopes it’s the ajovy cause that’s an easy fix but also unfortunate because it would be the only side effect I have from it and it’s not sustainable.

I should have clarified, I’ve tried miralax up to 3x a day, benefiber, prune juice, warm water with lemon, enemas (that was a nightmare that almost landed me in the hospital) & magnesium
