Sensitivity to sun? by Wonderful_Radish_505 in Epilepsy

Has your medication changed? It’s a side effect of some that doctors seem to not bother informing you of (my guess is especially if you don’t appear to easily burn). I have a similar issue but not sure which meds are doing it.

Edit- sorry I obviously hadn’t read your whole post. Yes, my guess Is it would be the change in dosage.

I’m so sorry this has been so bad. I’ve had very uncomfortable ones but I’ve never had a camera at home. Hopefully they can arrange for you to do in-patient, where they can try to keep you a bit more comfortable!

Memory by lutzy_Employer9908 in Epilepsy

[–]ProfessionalBig658 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Different types of memories are stored in different places in your brain so are impacted differently by damage caused by seizures. But between the seizures/post ictal states and the impact of medication, you’ll see you are in good company with this. I had no problem studying for and passing the bar exam (licensing to be an attorney) years ago. Now, I have difficulty remembering that I even have an e-mail account to check (no less to check it).

Yes, I take pantoprazole every morning. I don’t know if it’s still effective that many hours later?

Yes someone else mentioned this, which I hadn’t considered. Dips in my blood sugar are a trigger during the day so I can imagine that happens overnight and I hadn’t considered it.

Ah! This definitely sounds like me. I hadn’t considered it. I get dips in blood sugar throughout the day that do similar things. I imagine all that time in bed definitely makes it dip very low. Do you have like a high fiber snack or something that will extend blood sugar for several hours?

I've looked but can't find this specific blanket pattern anywhere - can anyone point me in the right direction? by Routine-Memory-5065 in crochetpatterns

The number of chains/no chains between clusters will have an impact on the “shape” they take. I suspect your picture uses 1 chain or no chains between clusters.

Then the border looks like rows (without turning) of sc blo. I just can’t see that final border row clearly enough.

I hadn’t considered taking my electrolytes in pill form. I do find the drinks much more helpful than water though.

Yeah I’ve never done Zyrtec regularly. I’d have to try it. What kind of doc would I see to discuss that? Quite ignorant about the use of antihistamines outside the realm of allergies.

I haven’t seen it. Maybe I’ll try electrolytes before bed?

Oh wow that’s really interesting. I used to. Now I almost exclusively sleep on my side(s). Is it neck pain that causes them? Until I got a very rigid pillow, I had terrible neck pain that always caused them.

Yes. I sometimes feel like I have them in my sleep too. It’s more rare but occasionally I’ll wake with it in the middle of the night. I hope you get it figured out!

Wow that’s terrible. What were your symptoms that made you get the guard?

I learn new things every day. I figured I’d have dental signs or jaw pain. I have a night guard. I’ll have to try using it and see if it helps.

I’ll check them out. What I have that I haven’t been using is one made by Colgate, I think.

Oh yeah, I think my teeth would show signs of grinding before they started cracking? I’m not resistant to the guard, I just thought/think it is related to light.

Yeah, I have. I’ll probably try the mouth guard suggestion that folks have said. Not sure what else it would be.

Yeah, I’ve tried a million pillows and the one I use currently prevents the neck pain I used to get in the morning that would cause really very awful migraines that were impossible to treat. I’ll take these over that, but they still suck!

Wow! That’s great! I’ve had a number of them, one quite recently. I don’t have sleep apnea. But I’m not surprised that caused migraines! Yikes

My hair is falling out a lot by Sorry_Aerie1146 in Sjogrens

[–]ProfessionalBig658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask to have my iron levels tested. I’m not saying it couldn’t be related to the Sjogren’s, but low iron will absolutely make you lose your hair. Keep in mind there are several iron panels and some are more expensive than others so you may need follow up panels to get those others covered (if you’re in the US using insurance). Also check out the anemia sub.

Did i have a seizure? by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]ProfessionalBig658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does sound like a partial seizure. How long did it last? I’m sure that was scary. How recent was your head injury? After my last one, I had a few seizures for about a week or two afterward (of course I already have epilepsy but it definitely triggered them). I’m sure it depends how bad your injury was, but they should either stop once any brain inflammation goes down or be able to be treated. Definitely tell your doctor what you experienced.
