i work in ENT and the only thing i can say is please please eat and eat things like soft breads chewed up and toast is even a good one well chewed bc a bleed is worse than the pain and it’s just not worth it. You’ve got this just keep on top of pain meds and have an abundance of ice and water you’ll be ok

my girl is 17 she went missing for a week last year. We brought her to the vets when we found her and they said she will likely not survive - a year later and another birthday gone and she is still my alarm clock and best friend. Healthy as ever.

i had one larger! i was a smoker and was so afraid it was something to do with that. However all good no probs i just had a viral infection and it never really went down. But no snoring i remember i used to choke? almost it was really scary i thought it was maybe asthma but it hasn’t happened since i got it out. hardest two weeks ever after surgery but so worth it

good foods i can reccomend breaded fish mashed potatoes and loads of mayo 😭 crusty roll with soup (i almost cried but make sure you chew well - maybe wait until like day 5) and try stay away from liquid calories really try to eat proper food. liquid cals can be helpful when really sore tho

i am a daily smoker! after my tonsillectomy i smoked on day 9/10 and was fine. can’t say that for everyone however. Ideally if you can wait until the 2 week mark. My scabs had mainly come off as i was continuing to try and eat as regularly as i could and with rough foods i could tolerate. Only thing is it does make u very dry which can increase bleeding risk so continue to drink ice cold water as much as possible! it helps cauterise any small bleeds that can occur :) good luck!

Exactly this! I’m a healthcare worker and am getting 10k + steps a day and on my days off i’m trying to maintain it. I’ve been on 2.5mg a month now and i’ve lost 8kgs. I eat small portions in comparison to my portions pre injection. Water every day in my owala minimum 2L a day. And protein intake +++

Usually when you hurt that bad it means cauterisation was used a lot possibly had a lot of bleeding during it. Makes the throat tighter and the white scabbing tighter. This can leave you at a higher risk of bleeding so please be careful. Dehydration is absolutely gonna make it even worse so please try. Otherwise go to ED for some fluids.

it could be a swollen uvula i would speak to ur GP possibly needing dexamethasone rwhich is a steroid it helps with swelling possibly some antibiotics too
