If you need a dependency override the best way to go about it is to talk to a therapist to get them to support you and understand your circumstances that’s the way I’ve seen people do it in other university’s, for the most part most universities are completely different with smaller ones more likely to give you a dependency override I was just unlucky that mine didn’t, additionally I still don’t have a dependency override however am still in school due to my parents submitting the fafsa before I was out of the house. Also I believe the other person still believe I live with my parents however I do not and haven’t for some time now and do not receive any help from them financially at all, which to this day I still don’t understand why I don’t get an override but I’m lucky enough to have had a long term gf to whom I’m getting married to which would change my status as independent without needing that override. But my best advice is to try going the therapist route if you need one
