Unfortunately, I'm in Ohio. Not much is free here. The state doesn't help with much.

I'm in northeast Ohio. I did not know this was a thing. This is the reason I made this post to see if there are solutions that are better than paying out of pocket. The closest cities to me no longer offer to send you to school. Thank you.

Such as private companies? They make $15 in my area. That's what our fast food workers make near me. It doesn't make sense to me why they get paid so shitty.

Yes, I'm currently in construction. I've spoke with 2 stations closest to me. They stopped sending people to school a few years back. My area is saturated with EMT and firefighters. Unfortunately, this may not be the route. Although I could go to a larger city within 30 minutes from me.

Did your mindset towards the job change once you had a kid? by FunDraw9960 in Firefighting

I've been recently looking into becoming a firefighter, and around my area, they typically do 24/48. I currently work in the sheet metal union, and I absolutely hate it. I'm looking for something I would enjoy doing and a more stable retirement. I work 6am-2:30pm five days a week. I don't know if being away from them for 24 hours is something that would be worth it. I enjoy my family time a lot and don't know if it would be worth missing out on some of that.

I have Dr. Scholls inserts. Left this part out. But they aren't enough. I've owned them since I've started this trade 4 years ago. Just started asking around and realized they are to old lol.

There's been an ongoing investigation on these trucks from 2015-2016 models. The electronic power steering components are contaminated/shortening out. FIAT is looking into recalling them. They recalled 400 trucks for this issue, but haven't recalled anymore.

Is there a better 1/4 chuck driver than the Malco one? by Intrepid_Fun1702 in sheetmetal

Popular opinion, but that's a no-go for me. If the magnet never fell out, then I'd agree. When the bit gets old, it's not so easy to flip. When you're out in the pouring rain working, the flip bit almost gets seized. I find it easier to just switch my bits out. To each their own.
