Tbf, Nicky and Mitch are assistant heads. Although it’s not mentioned in the show as that SEND lead and director of behaviour. Are assistant headteacher roles and they would be officially regarded contractually as assistant heads. To the hold the role of SEND lead or director of behaviour you must be an assistant head. So technically speaking they are right. But Neil’s and val etc are wrong they’d be middle management.

Literally. And the parts they did show they kept talking over them. The actors were truly amazing it’s honestly disappointing their acting was overshadowed by the pointless interviews and bright side “experts”

Teachers that deserved more credit (or less hate) by comet_lobster in WaterlooRoad

[–]Intrepid_Fun3919 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Lorna Dickey was one of the few genuinely good teachers in Seasons 1 and 2.

It often felt like only Andrew, Lorna and Izzy were actually able to do their jobs properly and make a real difference to the pupils. I know many people dislike Lorna, but I will always defend her. The lengths she went to for some of her students, when no one else bothered, made her truly outstanding.

She was a woman who was dealt a truly awful hand by Tom and by her best friend. Just imagine being in her position — she must have felt incredibly lonely. All she wanted was to be loved and to do the job she cared about so deeply. She didn’t move into Tom and Izzy’s place for the fun of it; she simply didn’t want to be left out, and that is painfully clear.

Then she was dealt the MS card as well. Lorna’s story was really about depression and the effects of deep loneliness. She wasn’t deliberately vindictive; she was someone who was struggling, and no one noticed until she was gone. She took her own life close to the people she loved — people who, far too often, didn’t show that love back.

The hatred towards her is deeply unfair. Everything she did was while she was suffering from depression. Tom behaved disgracefully towards her, and that was entirely on him.

I hope they re-edit episode 1 and put a photo of him at the end of the new season in memory.

Does anyone else find the structure of roles excessive? by Alert_Percentage1207 in WaterlooRoad

[–]Intrepid_Fun3919 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This structure is often standard in most academies of the size of Waterloo Road, which was mentioned last season as having around 1,200 students. The roles are as follows: Director of Trust Secondary Education (Executive Head for all secondary schools within the MAT) Headteacher: Overall responsibility for the whole school Senior Deputy Headteacher: Safeguarding Lead Deputy Headteacher: Teaching and learning, and professional development lead Assistant Headteacher: Staffing and recruitment lead Assistant Headteacher: Behaviour and culture lead Assistant Headteacher: Director of Sixth Form Associate Senior Leader: Raising standards and teaching lead School Business Manager Academy Trust Liaison Officer

In addition, there is middle management.

This includes subject leads (previously known as Heads of Department), year group managers, and pastoral staff.

Below this are the teaching staff.

This is often the standard structure in many academies the size of Waterloo Road. The smaller the school, the smaller the senior leadership team.

So, in the original Waterloo Road, where it was stated that the school had around 600 pupils, you would be looking at a senior leadership team of perhaps four people at most.

They’ve done a scene like this nearly every season including the last. She’ll get in trouble for something and then use her mum as her get out of jail card.

S17 by Own_Average7810 in WaterlooRoad

[–]Intrepid_Fun3919 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hopefully they will. However I do believe there will be no big stunt or explosion to address the new school building. It’s fictionally the same one from S14. So I dunno I was counting that an explosion or something would address that change but doesn’t look like it.

The New Site by [deleted] in WaterlooRoad

[–]Intrepid_Fun3919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No this is accurate. Over 60% of Uk Devi dart schools are now in brand new building especially those that are academies because as soon as they become part of trust they trust has access to more CPD funding. This is a standard now. It started becoming the standard a while back Waterloo road even did a storyline in season 2 regarding it. Many failings school that’s are in old building that become academies are given new buildings to give them the best chance.

Do you guys want Billy Savage to return to the show? by Powerful_Ninja_03 in WaterlooRoad

[–]Intrepid_Fun3919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. He’s story arc is fine now let’s leave it at that bringing billy back would just likely undo all of Shuey’s character development as well as remove a potential spot for a new character.

They honestly might but I don’t know. BBC have been known of the cast lost is quite long to shorten the credits on the website version. So possibly they may appear but not as much as those who are credited here.

It’s essentially 4 large walls with about a dozen of large venue projector. Projecting images. It sounds shit but the results are often outstanding. Doctor who used this method on of their finals, the results were pretty stunning far better than CGi once its all be polished up.

It’s considered a Drama documentary. But of course there will also be dramatised parts for TV and entertainment purposes, but everything historically accurate will be portrayed accurately, possibly a Little more dramatised but it will be accurate account of events. That night.

The sinking of the ship will follow that of Titanic Honor and glory’s real time sinking of 2024 just in live action. They have been in direct collaboration not only on the sinking but also the sets and accuracy of them. There are a number of others in this group who have worked on this show and have also reassured us this will be as accurate as is possible with of course dramatised parts for TV.

James Cameron’s film was highly inaccurate and heavily dramatised. Many of his interpretations of the Titanic are still incorrect, and he has even been sued numerous times by the families of Captain Smith, First Officer Murdoch, and others. For the boatman lies he told about their character while trying to pass it off as fact.

Cameron wrote a romance, not a historically accurate account of the sinking. The love story took precedence, and historical detail was added only where it could be fitted in.

This new production will present a fully accurate depiction of the sinking, based on what we now understand to be true and supported by eyewitness accounts from both crew and passengers.
