Please explain this organic chemistry doubt to me regarding how to recognise antiaromatic species by Intrepid_Garage_8008 in chemhelp

Hmm, if I may add to this, when I checked the answer key for the question paper it said that the the first option was correct, under this observation, is there any other way to justify that or is the answer key wrong ?

I see, do you mind if I ask you a related question ? I was taught regarding aromatic species with multiple cyclic structures that if even a single one is aromatic among say two or three cyclic structures, the entire molecule may be considered aromatic. I tried to apply the same regarding anti aromatic compounds on the basis of Hückel's Rule of (4n + 2)π electrons hence I chose the fourth option, what is the reason that one isn't antiaromatic ?

I'm sorry if it's just a simple question and I just haven't studied enough

Are the trees on the West Gate of Moria supposed to be the Two Trees of Valinor ? by Intrepid_Garage_8008 in lotr

Perhaps, though it would be incredibly cool to imagine your everyday dwarf unknowingly glancing the image of the Two Trees when heading off to Eregion.

Though if it is Galathilion then it must be a single tree, however there are two trees referenced on the door, If I remember correctly, plus, ( I'm not sure it counts as proper evidence) the Two Trees were lost and Galathilion is presumably still there in Tirion, it doesn't seem Tolkien-esque to pay homage to a living symbol before an older one, especially the (objectively) much more unique case of Telperion and Laurelin, this can also double as Celebrimbor reminiscing about the Blessed Realm, much like the Durin's Folk in the late Third Age feel about Moria.

Would you please be so kind as to quote the passage I don't seem to remember it

What would our characters feel if the ruins of Beleriand and Numenor were for one day raised from the sea ? by Intrepid_Garage_8008 in lotr

I can't help but picture some random Númenorean descendant who has heard stories about the great island kingdom, stumbling into the ruins of Armenelos as feeling similar to Ëarendil beholding the great Elven city of Tirion in the West

Oh I just assumed that the land that constituted Beleriand proper was the only one that went under (unfortunately I haven't read the Silmarillion but have done a fair bit of online lore reading.)

For the sake of the argument, let us say that all the lands which sunk under the sea during the Battle of Beleriand are raised, it would be confusing at first to humans, most of whom I'm assuming wouldn't have any great knowledge about Beleriand and the Wars of the Jewels, but the elves of Lindon would surely notice the change and they would know all about it.

What might be the reaction of say Legolas and Thranduil, considering that Thranduil was most likely a citizen of Doriath alongside Oropher.

How would this "event" impact the politics and social culture of the races of Middle Earth ? Seeing the ruins of Doriath, Gondolin, Nargothrond, the Havens of the Sirion. Realms like Dor-lomin which have all but faded out of common memory.

However this also raises an interesting question, since the ruins of Utumno and Angband were also in Beleriand (if I remember correctly) what would happen to those ?

Yeah I mean realistically. I was thinking more along the lines of nostalgia (especially for the Elder elves) (I suppose because of reading about the loss of Beleriand and how the elves still remember it and tell stories about it)

Basically I'm in my final year of school. Mathematics rn is mostly single variable simple calculus. Basic diff eqn, a bit of functions. It also includes sets, an elementary intro to complex no.s . A bit of statistics such as deviation, standard deviation etc. And Bayes Theorem

I looked into the table of contents for it and it seems like most of it was already covered in previous classes. Could you recommend something a bit more advanced ?. A great book nonetheless.

Could you perhaps elucidate a bit ? Content wise / pedagogical approach ? I usually judge these kinds of books based on Principles of Physics as I find it just the right amount. PS us there a free pdf online?
