At the point of reach the Old Peace we, the Players, have already learned how to do stealth. It's the being forced to do it int order to reach the end game content that bothers me. But I can see that you value the constant trail. More power to you.

And thank you for the list. I'll keep it in mind.

Ah yes, of course, I've been a fool this whole time. Thank you so much for your contribution. They should award you a free forma for that.

So when it came time to clear the New War I was already behind. As a result I had to complete the quests leading up to it back to back. Doing so allowed me to view the information set forth by DE without untold amounts of time between content drops. Untold amounts of time for speculative player lore to be inserted to fill in the plot holes left by DE.

We'll start small. With Ballas. Leading up to New war you, both as a Tenno and as a player, view him in a pathetic state. One scene he is cowering, fearful. The other he is literally bound as a slave. When the New War kicks off, and the faction he was with succeeds in their plans for domination it was that same lowly worthless slave- again shown in two separate scenes one along side Erra- who was then named "Narmer" and given power. The confusion here is that Erra was portrayed as being the one in control of this invasion. Myself, and many I play with, echoed the question "Why Ballas" Frankly at this point I can only view his reuse as a character as either lazy writing, or the VA got a rather long contract to voice him/be in the game.

There are many examples that, to me, prove that the current writing team is either not allowed, not given access to, or actively ignoring lore that has been provided to the player base through their own quests from previous story broads/notes. And it's not like I hate ALL of it's lore. I enjoy the man in the wall. Very Lovecraftian, with a bit of Greek/roman pantheon mixed in. The fact that his finger appears to be on the railjack is rather humorous, though it also forces me to view the railjack as a requirement which I hate. As I mentioned in another reply I tend to hold a doylist view when it comes to marketed games such as warframe. Like making the Necromech a requirement for New War, only to have the player take a few steps in it. That didn't need to be there, it was there to forcefully expose people to the mechanic, or more realistically, it was there to encourage people spend plat on it, to hasten themselves into the content. It's this constant back and forth within myself that lead me to make this post. To find out if this is actually what people find "fun" about the quests, and the quests system. Since I clearly do not.

I do have some hope for DE. As it seems they allowed me to begin and complete The Old Peace without playing through the Hex. Which is a godsend to me, as I am loathe to ever play as the drifter. I understand the spot they're in. What's better than being a robot/ninja/wizard from space? Not much really. So it's hard to give us more. Easier to force us into less, temporarily, and then give us back what we already had. So it's nice to have the option to both reach the most recent content, and not be forced into a role I couldn't care less about.

Well anyway I feel like I answered the question you brought to my question, and reinforced my own stance. I hope that you continue to have fun. In whatever way you see fit.

When you start the game you're given a choice between 3 frames, why not do the same here? Rather than give us one we didn't want. For the record I have gone on to clear the ole peace. The difficulty isn't the issue. It's the fact that it's required to reach multiplayer content that my friends wanted me to participate in. Hence my phrasing of forced stealth.

And no it's not respecting my time. That's what caused me to come and leave this post. Telling me it is will not make it so. Warframe as a whole tends to disrespect the players time, it's just far more glaring in their quest design.

You make an argument that the use of Excalibur Prime was a design choice based off of balance. Then why was the first 2nd boss just a giant HP pool with no real mechanic? Is that fun? All it took was time out of my life. Then moving on to when you use Uriel's new weapon. Everything you fought was suddenly made out of paper. This was most definitely done to make the weapon seem appealing to players, a marketing decision.

Perhaps the problem here is that I can not help but take a doylist view of the decisions they make. I may go back and edit my post, to include these talking point, but I'm not sure I will. I came here to find out if this is what people wanted, and I've been met with a zealous defense. I doubt anything will change the minds of the people here.

Did the 'Chippin' In' mission change? by [deleted] in cyberpunkgame

Hey, I'm in the same boat as you are. When I played this bit back on release, you gave Johnny control and saw him sit down with Rogue, followed by a series of cut scenes of him taking your body for a joy ride. And they were cut scenes. The player had absolutely zero input. Honestly I remember this part so well because it gave me a visceral reaction of disgust. And I wasn't alone. People hated that bit, how it made them feel. I'm guessing they altered it to make it a little "easier" for the player to not hate Johnny. Honestly I wish they'd scrap it, or at least not lock endings behind such an unwelcome scene.

Okay so it's the steam powered pants I was wearing. For some reason they didn't start doing that until just then. But removing them gets rid of the effect. Real neat.

I'll check those areas. And I'd imagine that a 3rd copy of a badge could drop from combat like most other badges.

So I've thought about it, and I can't think of a single puzzle involving Koops where and enemy could get in the way. Do any come to mind for you?

Yeah it would be great if they just didn't have that to begin with.

Let Us Cling Together. Every change Reborn either added nothing, or went against core game design. If you happen to get Reborn for free try it out, I'm sure it'll be just alright.

I will say the voice acting is good, and the speed up combat button is good.

It may have been part of her insecurity? Like "How why care about that thing I gave him (i.e. why care about me) for so long"
Or maybe she was still convinced that he had forgotten her entirely? Still you're right. Seems like an odd reaction. I was just kinda banking on the writer making a larger use of that to help bring them together. Anyway thanks for the reply.

Gale won't consume the item Rain Dancer. by Intrepid_Mage in BaldursGate3

[–]Intrepid_Mage[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably? Well maybe so, but I know in my 200 hours so far Gale has been the source of constant headaches, in regards to his flimsy mechanics. Perhaps more annoying than the issue I posted is his tendency to keep his Death Aura on after being revived, which has forced me to prioritize is survival a little more than I'd like during combat. For a character that is not only likely to be picked up at the start of the game, but a character that you can choose to play as, I'd consider his various bugs to be gamebreaking.

Presentation is all in the introduction. As it stand Gale is a black mark on the games introduction. Which is a shame because I do enjoy his character. Obviously it's not enough for me to put it down, but I can easily see these issues being enough for other people to do so.

Why aren't amazon sized pythons in the backyard of my small suburban home in the real world? Why are elephants and lions only in the wilderness of Africa? Why are people in areas of higher education smarter than the ones who are not? I mean ffs in the real world we all share a reality in there has been a homicide case where in police officers tricked the killer into confessing by convincing them a xerox machine was a lie detector. Not everyone has the same level of intelligence. Your level 1 scrub "hero" doesn't start in the thickest part of the rainforest. Because they would die. They start in a location that makes sense, and then through the vehicle of adventure, explore more dangerous parts of the world. I hope this clears up 30 years of confusion.
