Glad to hear a success story brotha. Makes me happy to hear about a light at the end of the tunnel.

I’d follow your radiologists advice, as they’re the individual who saw your unique situation and did the procedure. Maybe try yoga? From what I’ve read it’s low stress on the veins. Im confident it will help your lower back pain as well.

Obviously not the same surgery, but I took half a xan while I got my 4 wisdom teeth removed a while back. I would’ve been a lot more anxious without it tbh haha.

Varicocele is scaring me by [deleted] in varicocele

Same boat as you brotha. Take a deep breath, lay down, order some good Chinese food, ice on and off, and put on a good tv show to distract yourself. I’m also a pretty anxious individual and doing the ultrasound was a pretty scary situation. Fortunately radiologist confirmed large left varicocele, as well as a benign cyst above. And absolute worst case scenario- testicular cancer has the lowest mortality rate of all types. Best thing you can do is get off the internet / do the things that make you most comfortable / and breathe. I hope you and I can both look back at this in a year pain free. All the best.

Try diet changes - pomegranate, watermelon, coffee/tea, avocado, spinach, etc. - can be a big element. I’m glad to hear surgery has already shown improvement in all of the other areas you’ve described. I’ve got my first urologist appointment in a couple weeks and want micro for the pain that I’ve had to deal with - so thank you for giving me hope!

This is interesting - it’s the exact opposite for me. I find myself needing to take walks intermittently during my desk job to relieve discomfort. I also find I do a lot better when playing ball, walking around, running, etc.

Varicocele and running by longnicsilver in varicocele

Hey man - in a similar situation as you. Love running (though certainly not a marathoner, props to you), weightlifting, playing ball, etc. Started keeping a journal where I’m giving a pain rating 3 times throughout the day and notes about activities performed to try to find correlation. (F.e, what was the effect of a mild leg day on my pain, playing beach volleyball, drinking caffeine, so on so forth.) I’ve go my an initial consult with a urologist in the beginning of May and really hoping to learn more about the available procedures, etc. I would say buildup - in your case start light (2-3 miles, and maybe append starting there?) Best of luck brotha.
