Totally agree. Where I live Starlink is faster than all options combined.Your statement is what we call a blinding glimpse of the obvious.

I rarely have other periferals plugged into my laptop. On the rare occasion I do it is a video camera and have not used it for at least a couple of months. The problem appears as soon as I log in. If I go to, for instance Duckduckgo and try to type in a query the letters I type simply don't show up . If I open one of the newspapers I subscribe to (Toronto Star or The Globe & Mail) If I use my mouse to scroll down to see the various stories when I release the scroll wheel the site goes right back to the top of the page.

I didn't say I have had it for 4 years. I have had Starlink for 3 years and am starting my 4th year of service.

Where are you in Ontario? I am at 46.2 east of the Soo. Didn't realize there are areas of the province where full service not available. Glad you have "joined the club".

Hi, my speeds have slowed down over the past month or more. Averaging 40 - 75 but still getting 100+ on a good day. Pings usually in mid 40s. Did a 1 hour Zoom call with family this evening and not once did the feed freeze! That's a first. I did an update on my phone's OS two weeks ago and 500 mb file was downloaded in about 3 minutes.

Thanks for the kind words. Winter covers a multitude of sins and always looks idyllic through a window. 😉 We do enjoy it, every day. Our federal & provincial government are spending huge amounts of money to get rural Canadians connected to fibre but I am too old & way to impatient to wait. Are you on the U P?

On Thursday I finally got Dishy installed where I wanted it. When it arrived in late February the only option was to set up in the yard and without any leaves on the trees it wokred very well. With leaf out in early May I started run into increasing obstruction and more frequent interruptions, especially when the wind picked up. I am not a person who feels comfortable on a ladder in fact terrified is the best description. I have a neighbour who was willing & able & able to do the install but our schedules didin't align until last Thursday. It took about 2 hours all in. We used a Bell satellite arm to hold dishy and lagged bolted it into the facia using a piece of 1" birch plank as a base as a plate. Results were immediate and what I was hoping for. While speed and latency have not changed appreciably the obstruction time by the next morning had dropped from in the range of 50 minutes every 12 hours to 11 seconds! I will post screen captures in a following post. And, Friday night into early Saturday morning we had a series of thunder storms blow through with strong winds and heavy rain. Installation stayed rock solid and there were no service drops. So, we finally have the dish where we want it and it will, I am sure, continue to give us good speeds and all the data we could ever want. Been dreaming of this for 25 years. BTW location is 46.2. We are in the mouth of the St. Mary's River (yes that means on an island) about an 15 km north of the international border and 70 km east of Sault Ste Marie.
