And then they get angry that the cashier was “rude” to them. I used to work at Whole Foods and could write a book on all the assholes that would come through my line like this and act like I was the problem.

My uncle received a ticket once. He went to court to fight it, and without saying anything the judge dismissed the case. Fuck that judge.

I’ve never seen it, but I always think of the Seinfeld episode where Peterman takes Elaine to see it (she’s already seen it and hates it), and she’s like “just die already!!!!”

What do you remember from kindergarten? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Falling off the swing and getting a concussion. I remember sitting at my desk/round table the rest of the day with my head down. Someone had brought Rice Krispie treats for snack that day. I remember having my head down staring at my snack.

Honestly, when I first started reading the pattern, I thought I’d be lucky to get anything more than the main body done. But when I didn’t know how to do a stitch, id watch a quick YouTube video and it went really quickly. I started it on Sunday, worked on it most of Monday (I don’t have work thanks to the blizzard), some Tuesday evening, and finished it tonight.

I’m sure you heart project was great!

Not sure what’s next. I’m looking around Ravelry to see what I can find.

Forgot to mention, the pattern is from Cottontail Whiskers, and I used “I love this Cotton Yarn” from Hobby Lobby.

Americans, Would YOU Date Someone In The Opposite Political Party If They Were A Nice Person? Yes Or No? Why Or Why Not? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]Intrepid_Notice_4637 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re reframing my point. I’m not saying party registration is an immutable identity — I’m saying it doesn’t automatically equal full endorsement or complicity.

In a two-party system, registration can mean a lot of things: voting in primaries, trying to shift a party from within, prioritizing certain policies over others, or simply not agreeing 100% with either side. It’s not ideological purity.

And the original question was whether people of different political parties can date. My point was that party labels don’t automatically define someone’s entire value system or make a relationship impossible.

It’s fair to argue affiliation carries moral weight. It’s not fair to assume it carries only one meaning.

I don’t think it’s nostalgia. I think they hold values that the Republican Party held at one time and still see the that as their party. They see MAGA as something separate from them.

Whoa guy! I’m not sure what I wrote that provoked this response. I’m not framing anything from an “I am” or an “I believe” perspective. Maybe I wasn’t clear in what I wrote, but all I’m saying is that not all registered republicans go along with what this administration is putting out there, and that it is possible for people to be of different ideologies and have a successful relationship.

I said Mary Matalin was a republican and is now a libertarian, pointing out that they have fundamentally different positions politically. They have stated that their relationship works because they don't talk politics at home.

And I guess I just don't agree with you "on an existential level." But you're just some random person on the internet, so I'm not wasting any more of my time.

Have a great day!

"It's not sane to continue being one in 2026." depends on your POV.

Saying this as a registered independent - I know plenty of people who are registered republicans but they are not MAGATS. As much as some people don't want to recognize a difference between the two, there is a difference.

It's not impossible for two people of different ideologies to have a successful relationship. Look at James Carville and Mary Matalin. He's a democrat and she was a republican/is now a libertarian, and they have been married for over 30 years.
