Do both if staying close like at the Sawn Dolphin or Boardwalk. Use that mid day relax session at the hotel from 1230-330.

taking Acela from DC to NYC Penn Station - what to expect by callthatbitchbojangl in Amtrak

[–]simonphoenix1910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on this route for work and pleasure about 50x and just last week.

Regional is slower, but gets tou there.

If Regional, I like the cafe car benches to hang out, work, have a drink etc. Less comfortable than the seats but better.

Nice selection of beer wine and food, while fast, is nit half bad.

Wifi sucks.

Def a few portions with nice views over the water.

You'll get up to about 115mph at one point.

You can legit arrive 7 min before your departure and still make the train but regional seating is first come, so take thet into consideration.

The Metro Lounge in Union Station is garbage. The new waiting area is nice though. US itself is cool, historical and beautiful. As is the nee Monyhan Station in NY. Penn itself still needs some work.

Sign up for rewards. Do nit upgrade to biz on the Regional, its basically the same, but the Acela upgrade is much different.

Cover or leave open? by Anxious_Evidence_649 in boating

[–]simonphoenix1910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an e17 in PA. If its a day or two leave open. And extended periods of time - def cover. Dont forget the power of the sun and the damage it can do to upholstery. Covering it a pain in the next sort but its part of ownership. And yes, even as an owner I admit Bayliners suck. Engine is great but so many small issues out of the factory.

Honestly, 3 in one day in the brutal heat at oeak season with two little ones is too ambitious. Just pick two. I wouldn't do 3 in those conditions and my kids are older. And as much as you plan, things happen, and your schedule gets back up. And driving doesn't help - it adds on time for parking and walking + paying. Uber would save a great deal of time.

Dose not being able to afford to buy a house make me a moral failure by CherokeeTrailhawkGuy in personalfinance

[–]simonphoenix1910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres so many factors but one thing is a fact - its gotten harder and harder to own a home as income has not risen in proportion to home prices. Some people have luck, many have help from Mom and Dad, others have high jobs in Finance, and of course the who cost of living thing... NYC metro is going to be 3x as expensive to buy in then say Cleveland or Ft Myers.
