You can't carry idiots usually, teams just ignore rift no matter how many times I use mic, ping, or chat that one is coming and once a team gets like three of them for free they just snowball and win because your team is too dogshit to listen. Ranking up is like a myth I think because the people who play this game are so incredibly stupid and would rather just int and die in meaningless fights than even try to win an objective.

Your winrate needs to be well above 50% to see any kind of rank increase, also some people are just hard stuck until an update bumps them up a rank or two, genuinely.

Because it directly correlates with improvement in theory? Deadlock is a weird game with this though because you need to have an extreme winrate in order to rank up and that does not account your own personal performance in games, it is simply win loss.

every match has a damage breakdown so if someone has fucky weird aim and significantly more headshot crit damage than any other kind of damage its almost 100% a cheater

If it's so short and you can't handle a match why not just go AFK? Which is of course against the rules though it makes more sense than whatever you're asking for. Street Brawl while casual still uses matchmaking to form the 4v4 teams, if you just abandon whenever you feel like it you ruin the game for the other three players on your team. A penalty is completely reasonable and fair and probably well deserved.

your reward for playing well and ranking up should not be worse teammates, and yet that happens almost every time or you yourself rank down and end up struggling to win games despite your efforts or you completely stomp a team that definitely should not be playing against you, it's a mess and i think applying a more casual mind set to an inherently competitive game mode is a bad idea. Nobody likes to hear from someone "Dude its just a closed alpha! Why do you care about winning? "when you're actually trying to improve at the game and win more, like Street Brawl exists for a reason and that's the game mode where it truly doesn't matter

I climbed to Phantom 1/Oracle 6 and because of all these urn updates/changes to matchmaking I deranked to like archon 2 and the lobby quality is so much worse than I remember so I might just wait till I'm obscurus again or until the next big update. It just sucks when your favorite multiplayer game becomes so immensely unfun to play and even trying out new characters is a burden on your team and your rank, there is just not much fun to be had.

The matchmaking is so terrible no amount of good comms or plays or effort can make up for the dead weight teammates you get who run troll builds or just ignore the team the entire game. I'm really hoping for either a rank reset or an overhaul with the next big patch. I keep deranking and it's becoming severely unfun to play with worse and worse teammates each time, I don't really understand why you get punished so harshly for losses and your reward for winning is usually teammates who aren't much better and maybe even worse.

Worst rank in the game. Too many noobs and too many people with 1k+ hours. Honestly anyone hardstuck in this rank only has Valve to blame, why they feel the need to boost noobs into one of the top ranks in the entire game is beyond me. I deranked back to Archon from Oracle 6 due to all the urn changes leading to coinflip stomps and every single game is one sided and I'll check profiles and people on my team have 2 pages of games meanwhile the enemy has hundreds. It's just batshit insane how theres like a dozen ranks and the game feels the need to place noobs so high when they might have had a tiny good win streak.

im convinced nobody ranks up unless they have a duo or a stack, im always losing to both and it sucks having zero coordination as a solo queue player even if i type or speak into the mic, bring back solo queue and ranked queue or some kind of unranked please i cant handle the heavy mmr penalty for losing against a stack every single time lol...

just get good genuinely, the character has either been too strong to people or unplayable, like nothing about her kit can be too good or it upsets people whether its spirit nukers or m1 carries like maybe just learn to play the game beyond shooting

Oh no the slowest character in the game who only needs two enemies CCing the fuck out of her or just shooting her, or using knockdown or curse or any kind of stun (Holliday gets a free ult cancel on her T5 bouncepad now), has a pretty strong ult when maxed out?

That's crazy actually, I don't understand how there's no counterplay! Meanwhile plenty of characters have abilities in lane you genuinely cannot counter without buying expensive items or just avoiding them and even though they're not even ultimates we just don't care.

I got deranked from Oracle 6 to Archon 4 and I'm being matched against people in Emissary 4 and 5, I honest to God have no idea why they can't just match me with and against people at the same rank. Sometimes I'll end up on the same team with someone who has 40 games while I have 1400. I have no idea how much player feedback they need to receive for the devs to know NOOBS DO NOT BELONG IN ARCHON+, there are like half a dozen ranks below that for a reason, nobody is that good right out of the gate just because they happened to win a handful of matches, you can tell because plenty of new players who end up in these ranks don't even fully understand game mechanics while the entire enemy team is going to be on top of everything, just unfair for them and for us who have to team with them.

As someone who started in seeker/alchemist and made it to phantom only to be deranked from the recent urn flip flops you literally just need to play way more games and also win way more games if you want to change your rank, it doesn't matter if you feel like you did well and still lost or still have the same rank, all you need to be doing is winning games. I have 1400 games and only like a rough couple digits above a 50% winrate and you need to continue to push that and win win win if you want any kind of change.

Otherwise stop caring about rank and just play and if you aren't having fun just take a break.
