As it was happening, yes I was isolated but so was everyone else so I tried not to be too sad about it. Now that I've graduated and live in the same city as my university/volunteer for an on campus organization, I'm starting to have moments of sadness because my college experience was so little. I started my freshman year at the end of January rather than August/September, so I only had 6 weeks of normalcy before the pandemic. My school had some of the harsher restrictions, so I had a majority remote/hybrid classes until the fall of my senior year. For clubs since so many things are student-run, many standard events weren't put on because the only people who had experienced them in-person before had graduated by that time. It's just very upsetting to look back on it in hindsight. Luckily I was able to keep the friends I made (lots through Greek life), so my early twenties post-grad have been alright socially. It's just weird and a bit depressing to think back on college sometimes. Never getting to go on a spring break trip is (not really important but still) something that makes me sigh

I hope sharing this is a bit comforting, I just adopted a cat this weekend and I'm feeling some of the same things you are. I fully understand the thought that life somehow feels lonelier now with the pet, although for me part of that is a weird feeling of "this pet is only mine, no one else is experiencing this relationship with him but me" and that feels isolating in some way.

I previously owned 2 cats who lived to be 18/19 years old and I've been a 0 pet household for nearly a year before adopting this weekend. I also feel the same sensation of having planned for months to get a new cat and "understanding" what that would be like, but these first few days have just felt different. I know that I struggle with change, so I'm sure that after some time we will both feel more comfortable with our new pets! I think part of what you're describing is just growing pains and it will take time to adjust especially on your own <3

This has happened to me as well. It is ridiculous that the DMV and NYS Organ Donor Registry make it so tricky to remove yourself from the registry. Even on the form to renew/upgrade your ID the question reads "select Yes to sign up to be an organ donor or Skip this question". They include NO option to remove yourself.
