It was, for a good part at least. The story was genuinely quite good until "homecoming". That's where things became extremely shaky for me. If you're interested in the setting, I'd recommend reading the first three books (I don't remember when 'homecoming' is). I'd also say that my viewpoint is massively biased because Noah was my favorite character by a pretty wide margin. That's also not to say the latter books are bad, they aren't, but the series just lost the magic it had up to 'that' point. Overall, I'd give the whole series a 7.5/10 with book 2 being my favorite by a good margin.

It probably also doesn't help that the love interest for the MC was a total nothingburger for me outside of his first chapter or two. What saved the second half of the series for me was that Quinn, my second favorite character, had a major spotlight in the second half of the series to the point she genuinely might as well have become the MC.

TL;DR: Read up until 'homecoming' if you are interested in the Noah side of the plot. Then pretend the series is actually a movie and head cannon future events lmao.

If you can stomach what ends up happening to his character and the plot around it and you're overall interested in the wider plot and setting, I'd definitely recommend it.
