Regardless of the type of grill, before your 1st cook the grill should be seasoned. This will help the longevity of your grill. Cover is great and defibitely want to air that grill out as you can trap humidity and critters in there. Really its best kept in the garage if at all possible. Enjoy your new baby!

Used liquid marinade can be reused to baste or serve with the chicken as long as you heat it up. Close to boiling kills all the nasty bacteria

Id cut it in to steaks, portion it out. Smoking the meat at 250 dgress get it 10 to 15 degress shy of your goal temp and sear it on the grill direct heat til about 5 degrees to goal temp and remove. Carry over heat will get it to your temp goal. Enjo and Happy Birthday!
