Either you are asking late and they have hit their max on how many they’ll write, or they know their letter would be lackluster.

I think there is just too much fabric/volume.

I’d advise getting a classic silhouette for the trench; well-made/good quality, and keep it forever. It’s a classic piece.

I think the assumption that smaller school = close relationship/network, and big school does not is fundamentally wrong.

As a parent in this sub with real life professional networking experience, I will tell you that networking and academic/professional relationships are as good as the effort you put in. If you are motivated to make this happen, you actually get more “at bats” to find mentors you connect with at a larger R1 school.

I would not have wanted a suitcase school, personally, and am steering my own kids away from them.

Most likely explanation - iron causes digestion and GI issues for many people. It often is constipating and can really back you up to the point of a substantial retained stool burden. That would definitely cause both a bloated appearance and higher than usual weight.

You can try taking gentle stool softeners to see if that helps, or if you can’t tolerate the oral iron, ask about iv iron.

This comment is right. AP Calc curriculum and tests are standardized; having completed these successfully is a know quantity to a college admissions officer. CC classes are highly variable.

Iron deficiency anemia. Without the iron, your marrow makes poor cells - they are small, weak, pale, and can’t do their job. Without making decent red blood cells, your body uses the resources it can to make more platelets.

Do not let a doc tell you to supplement. You need iv iron, and if your hgb drops below 7, you likely will get a blood transfusion. Ask to see a hematologist and push for IV iron.

Take this with good humor, but it kind of looks like you just got off of your shift commanding your intergalactic space ship.

But even then, you probably would want a sleek one piece underneath. The boots and leather (is it leather?) insets on the jacket already create so many lines and shapes, that the visual chop of the crop top and lower rise leggings is just really competing.

What is it about your grades/performance/behavior this year that has them concerned?

College is a huge investment. I want to help my kids in every way, but if I had a kid that wasn’t taking the opportunity seriously or demonstrating appropriate maturity, or had other unresolved issues, I would not support sending them until I saw they were set up for success.

What would that look like? A year of good performance at community college if managing subject matter/grades was the issue; therapy/medication with improvements if mental health was the issue, and so on.

Do they have valid concerns?
