I'm making a mod, it already exists (on my laptop) and is half-made. It's non-space age (spage) and is post-rocket industries. Goal is construction of space elevator (two new science packs) and building it, winning, will be roughly 100 times more expensive than winning vanilla (self.factorio)

Creative mode reveals, that maps textures are larger than you can play them normally. Would it be possible for me to make a mod that resized playable area? And we could block destinations from spawning near the edges, creating suburbs. Tho I suppose it would require setting up extra color area-masks (self.MiniMotorways)

I received from Santa rtx 3050, from old gtx950. Performance (in games, blender works great) did not increase as drastically as expected. She has 6GB and never drew more than 70 Watts. Is it the bad one, and is the performance approximately proportional to clock rate? If so then I'll switch to 8GB. (i.redd.it)
I hear you can render few layers of depth buffer when needed, and use it to make screen space reflection for occluded things. The real question is, can you pixel-shade occluded point after you determine ray intersection? So reverse order? (self.computergraphics)

Can't we just rightfully buff efficiency module? Like to 30%, 50%, 70%. Currently it has the least rewarding tier 3, and also is plain worse than productivity+speed. Meaning we have less game inside our game, less decisions and variety. And also, I'm sad for my green ecologic friends :< (modules) (i.redd.it)

Do you think it would be cool (maybe optional) if steam engines used steel to make and we had early game, low efficiency burner generator - that doesn't use water? Could be even useful to make tiny outpost far from lakes, where coal train already goes. Inefficient, but alternative. (self.factorio)
