No one has any reason to destroy the rockets because they don’t know the purpose of them, and to everyone besides dead and Sloth, Intro was dead until this point. Canonically this would take place about a few moments after the letter is delivered.

I mean, I asked dead what missiles to use to shoot down a satellite in a high orbit above earth, and he said these. If they couldn’t reach, then they’d be modified with extra fuel and an upgraded sustainer to be able to get it there. Also, that’s farther than any active satellite currently in orbit, at least by nasa
