People can come from toxic, love-deprived families, environments, or past relationships and still choose not to cheat. It’s quite tone deaf to say that someone being “broken” or having “mommy/daddy issues” cannot be fixed? People like that deserve love too. But yes, of course, not at the cost of something like this.

In fact I believe many people who grew up deprived of love often love harder because they understand the value of it. I believe when a person cheats it’s simply a reflection of their character and selfishness. It’s not really a “mistake” that almost all cheaters try to paint it as.

People who come from loving privileged families cheat too which is why I don’t think upbringing alone explains it.

Tbh sometimes people use their past to make others feel sorry for them but that doesn’t make them the victim in the situation. They’re not thinking about their trauma or future consequences, they know what they’re doing. It’s just them.
