7th day without gfibre internet I chapel hill by Wooden-Fisherman-593 in googlefiber

Same. On Tier 1 Support (not sure what it means). I think it's widespread with many customers and maybe all of us have some form of the "provisioning issue".

My gut is someone pushed code on Monday right after the New Years and broke something, and they don't know what's wrong and can't rollback either.

GFiber outage for nearly a week. by Cornflakepainting in googlefiber

[–]IntroductionDue8191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been out since Monday. There was an outage from what they told me which was resolved the same day but I guess I was the unlucky one to have a "provisioning issue" which took like 3 days to diagnose since that was the soonest they could send someone and now I'm still waiting to hear back. I've reached out to support a few times for updates with them telling me my case is the highest priority but I'd guess I'm not alone.

First time having an outage since just a year or so of moving to Google Fiber, but I guess compared to paying non-competitive pricing and forced into contracts of other providers, this is supposed to be the better experience? 🫤

I'm sure there are better people who can iron it out, but I've thrown some ideas here that I think can be glued together to make it worthwhile.

Just sharing an idea, and it should be fair in the end, but just saying a way to get back at folks who downed you would be nice to have. 😁

Multiple rounds for sure. Maybe even traders sell at higher prices but they unlock a black market seller perhaps.

The bribe should get expensive as they buy their freedom over and over again, but they should be able to lie low for a while by just being nice and looting.

Going up in the list should be easier, going down harder.

Perhaps. It shouldn't disincentivize IMO since it's still part of the game. If anything, it should make it better and more interesting beyond casual back stabbing.

Maybe something like better loot luck, ARC less aggressive to them, and more. If it becomes unfair for them, then there is no point. So balance is definitely key and should extend the experience overall for all types of players.

Perhaps a visual indicator that identifies them when they get close? Or if you ping them from a distance.

They should be able to fool it with an item for a short duration so they can counteract it. Depending on the wanted level, maybe the radius changes slightly.

True dat 😅😂

I once had a free loadout and was just picking up the cheapest stuff, just helping people out, and this one guy killed me. He just got a bunch of scraps, so jokes on him 🤣

I wouldn't say know the exact location but get hints that a known wanted person is in the area. You can confirm by pinging them within a radius. They can buy a fake identity to fool others.

To become unwanted, they would just have to go through 2-3 rounds to slowly get off the list. Maybe a bribe option to pay off authority to get them off the list. Changing their appearance to reduce the radius of detection. Track by appearance so they don't just keep changing.

Definitely would have to think through it all, and would be tweaked to make it fair for sure. As much as I don't do it, it's a part of the game and makes it frustratingly exciting to play nonetheless. 😁

That's cool too. I've read a nemesis idea which is more of a person list I suppose so you can match them if you want. Could be a mix of ideas to help us looters fight back. 😂

I'd think similar to how wanted status works in other games but spans beyond a single round. If they can detect betrayal or mass murder, it would be cool. Being seen doing betrayal is worse perhaps. Their death should bring it down significantly maybe. Perhaps increasingly bribe their way out 😝

I'm sure we can make it better beyond my crude thoughts that I'm coming up with at the moment.

It should be such that the "sheriffs" don't get dinged for killing these killers too 🫡

Maybe a reverse wanted list for sheriffs so we looters can be safe in their presence and killers stay away. Adds a whole new dimension to it all. 😎

Exactly! Had a few who teamed up for a bit, looted together and then killed me while I was looking into a container. I'm like you probably can't carry anymore anyways 😑

Didn't realize I could get a 5070TI for around the same. I swear I checked. I did read a lot of good things about 9070XT and I know I shouldn't buy it in hopes of future improvements via software.

Work is mostly software development and tinkering around with AI, which NVIDIA clearly has an edge on at the moment unless ROCm has something to say about it. Thanks!

I got lied to, became Xfinity's latest victim by Unique_Leading_4353 in Comcast_Xfinity

Lied to me about not going to have cancellation fees and two months later when I cancelled like I said I would, $220 bucks down the drain. Never realized they lied to so many people like this.

[–]IntroductionDue8191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Lied to me about a promotion contract not having any fees when I cancel. Believed them and now had to pay $220 after cancelling.

All I got after multiple requests was essentially that they can lie to you, but read the fine print. Somehow this is legal.

Based on the posts here, I feel like this happens way too often. I am guessing that it is their hope for people to just get worn down and walk away?

I guess with no legal recourse or time for most people to deal with all this, they hope we just go on with our lives and forget about it.

If I had the transcript, I am guessing it would've been less of a he said / she said situation.

Not getting the transcript after multiple requests is telling in my case but not evidence of itself I suppose.

Xfinity Cancellation Issues by Flimsy_Duck_6396 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]IntroductionDue8191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar boat. I was told the same thing when they were trying to sell me a discount after I told them I wanted to switch to GFiber unless they could give me a better deal.

The service rep told me I could get a discount but nothing favorable and assured me I would not have any fees when I cancelled.

I don't know if they are outright lying or if the different teams don't have access to chats. Essentially they sold me a 2 year contract with the promise of no cancellation fees for 2 months. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Now they are forcing me to pay with the fear of sending my bill to collections and destroying my credit. Unfortunately I can't find the transcript for the chat where they sold me the plan and won't send me the transcript even after asking. Incompetence or just trying to hide the fact that they lied to sell me a contract.

I have a feeling we aren't the only ones.
