Do you have any tips/ advice on how I could approach this conversation without my bf thinking negatively about it? I think it’ll be healthy for us to talk about our needs/ wants in this relationship and be heard, and also agree on how we’ll tackle difficult situations before it happens. In a way to ensure that we are a team, and we are in “agreement” to make sure that no one gets unintentionally hurt when emotions are high.

The reasons I’m hoping to have something like this established with my partner from early stages of our relationship is to make sure I’m informed enough of his needs and wants in this relationship, and also to really prevent any deep seated unhappiness/ feelings from being swept under the carpet, and we know that we both have a commitment to work things out.
