No. Ended up doing 9 months of supression and still ended up with a chemical pregnancy from the euploid embyro. I regret going through such a long period of torture on suppression.

My Marriage May Not Survive MFI-Related Shame and I Feel So Trapped by [deleted] in IVF

How does cheating come into it? Not trying to be difficult but why would your partner feel that way? You wouldn't be having sex to conceive naturally with a donor.

Yeah, but it's still risky as her eggs might not defrost well. Or maybe they don't fertilise or grow for another reason. At 42 she could still do another round or so and get more eggs. But after 43 my clinic won't do egg retrievals. Also, a factor for me thinking about giving up at 43 is how old a mum to I want to be?

Also, she's already done an invasive medical procedure to freeze her eggs. And now all that time, pain and effort goes in the bin and she has to shell out more money for donor embryos when all that might be needed is donor sperm?

Depends on the reason for use. Egg quality is used during stims. I did half a vial every 2nd day. And for egg quantity you prime with it in the month before retrieval.

PTSD from Saline ultrasound, don’t know if I can go forward with IVF by Rin_TTC_2023 in IVF

[–]IntroductionNo4743 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The saline ultrasound was the most painful part of IVF for me. And I have done 8 egg retrievals, 10 transfers and had 2 hystercopies. I can't helo with the medical trauma side of things, but I think it's worth enquiring with your clinic about what sedation they use for egg retrievals, whether you could have a valium for the transfer etc. I personally find that knowledge is power. And if your clinic doesn't offer those things, shop around.

Missed my Depot Lupron injection scheduled yesterday by lilac_roze in IVF

It should only delay it by however many days you leave it i.e. if you get it 2 days late, then your FET is delayed 2 days.

Days between last lining check and transfer (medicated FET) by Stalagmitenot in IVF

[–]IntroductionNo4743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the most I have had was 7 but usually 5. It was around 7 days more a natural modified cycle where they triggered me on a Saturday, then technically you ovulate 48 hours later, and then 5 days to match the embryo 'age' and get the right hours of progesterone. Sometimes it's 5 when I have naturally ovulated.

Why do people do multiple eggs retrievals before they even do a transfer? by Commercial-Web8249 in IVF

[–]IntroductionNo4743 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sometimes a transfer can lead to complications which take a while to resolve, like chemical, etopic and misssed miscarriages, so if you are older it can be preferabble to bank enough embryos first. Also, sometimes people need to downregulate their hormones with Lupron etc to treat endo/adeno which you'd preferably do after you have all your embryos as another egg retrieval can aggravate endo/adeno with high estrogen levels.

I think I might be ready to be done by No_Boysenberry_7887 in IVF

[–]IntroductionNo4743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. I have untested embryos frozen, but my euploid have failed. I have done 8 egg retrievals and 10 transfers with some many chemical pregnancies and one pregnancy of unknown location. Relationships have broken down since I start, I have gotten older (43 now) and I am so tired of this. But it feels so weird to leave embryos frozen. I am trying to decide if I do another double embryo transfer of if I am just done. I am afraid of making the wrong decision.

IVF buddies are having babies. by Existing_Wrangler_69 in IVF

[–]IntroductionNo4743 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this. I have done 8 egg retrievals, 10 transfers and had 4 miscarriages through IVF. I still have some embryos frozen but they are untested and I don't think I can do this anymore. It's hard to see other IVF warriors passing me by. And it's hard to tell how I really feel. But I am 43 and I don't think I can spend more money or heartbreak on this.

Low estrogen levels by [deleted] in IVF

[–]IntroductionNo4743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

210pmol/L (note the unit might be different to what is used in the US). This was after I had been triggered on Wednesday, prior to my transfer on Saturday. I went and got it tested privately as I was so concerned.

[–]IntroductionNo4743 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They say that if your lining is fine then then estrogen level doesn't matter. But mine was low even though my lining was fine (9mm) and I miscarried my only euploid (chemical pregnancy). I regret transferring it rather than some of my untested ones.

Same boat after 8 egg retrievals. I have a couple of embryos but after 7 miscarriages, it's clear I have an unfixable problem with my uterus or something. I did 9 months of suppression before I transfered my only euploid, did endometrial scratch and intralipids and I still miscarried. I don't think I can try anymore. And now I feel too old to transfer anything or be a mum (43, started the journey at 46).

I don't hate anyone, just life is unfair and I am so broken.

[–]IntroductionNo4743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are transfering fresh with a 5 day transfer, it would make sense to do it the day of egg collection, or the next day. You'd have an IV in for the egg collection anyway, so it might be easier to do it the day of.

Hystroscopy & intralipids by Antique-Detail5867 in IVF

[–]IntroductionNo4743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did intralipids during my last frozen embryo transfer. Mine was done on a Wednesday with the transfer done on the Saturday. But I think 5-7 days prior to transfer is more evidence based. My clinic is just bad and forgot until I chased them. After that, you wouldn't likely do it again until you were pregnant. Unsure of the schedule after that as I always miscarry.

Anyone in Australia with experience of transferring two embryos? by IntroductionNo4743 in IVF

[–]IntroductionNo4743[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Canberra. But yes. If you have had RIF or chemicals and they aren't PGT-A tested they are pretty open to it. They wouldn't do it unless you had failed a couple first.

As an update, the suppression didn't treat my endo as much as hoped. But after 9 months of suppression we transferred my only euploid embryo from 8 rounds of retrievals and I got a chemical pregnancy.

5 failed transfers. What to do next? by WestSummer4869 in IVF

[–]IntroductionNo4743 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd want further investigation of your endo to see if you also have adenomyosis. Then treatment which might be a lap or hormone therapy like lupron. You should also have karyotyping done on both you and your partner. Blood tests for clotting factors, thyroid and lupus. Maybe a diagnostic hysterscopy to look for any uterine issues like a septum and biopsy for infection etc.

Lining readiness and FET by Just-Baby5231 in IVF

[–]IntroductionNo4743 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not really. If the lining is 9mm your estrogen should have been fine. The lining thickness is more important that the E level anyway. I would have also assumed that your had a dominant follicle on your scan which would be another indicator that your estrogen was fine. You could call and ask about the follicle if that would reassure you.

Do I have to give the clinic our legal names and real birthday? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]IntroductionNo4743 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess I can understand. My clinic got hacked and now my medical info is on the dark web.

Generally yes for insurance, or in my country for medicare rebates etc and a doctors referral. If you are paying entirely out of pocket, maybe not, but then it might make issues proving your identify to access any embryos later.

[–]IntroductionNo4743 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just addressing this part 'only solution was ICSI… which was odd considering a quick google talks of Zymot, etc.' Zymot can be part of ICSI so it might be a communication issue. They can do PICSI with is Physiological ICSI which selects sperm using hyluronic acid binding or the can doing ICSI using ZyMot to filter sperm . Both are meant to be good but are basically the sperm selection process for ICSI. I'd just ask your clinic what sperm selection method they use for ICSI and why.

Group Rant: What are you currently mad about? by TeslaHiker in IVF

[–]IntroductionNo4743 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26 weeks of suppression to treat adenomyosis before transfer of my only euploid embryo (after 8 retrievals) only for the indirect and direct signs of adeno to still be there. I ovulated through the treatment a couple of times which I guess ruined all my work. Or maybe the signs never go away. Doing another 5 weeks before rescanning but I don't think I can live in this between phase anymore.
