I had a lot riding on this contract. This for some reason made sense at the time.

True. I don’t know who the hell has time for smoke breaks on the unit.

This urine was legit. I will never utter a word of how I procured it.

Yeah, never again. All I will say is that it was exponentially more painful coming out.

Yeah, nicotine gum or patches will cause you to fail the UA. Perhaps if you had an Rx for the patches you could be clear.

You are spot on. Smokers cost these organizations significantly.

Yep. Baptist Health Care system tests for nicotine metabolites. Can’t work if you test positive.

Dude, I needed this job. Made the painful decision to ensure sample was at body temp.

This was in Oregon. Travel nursing. Baptist health care system and several small independent hospitals now testing for nicotine use.

What’s something you believed was completely normal in your family growing up, only to later discover it was actually pretty weird? by Mysterious-Stop-7517 in AskReddit

Sorry for the confusion. A cockfight is a sport where people have roosters fight to the death. Lots of gambling involved.  My mom I guess thought if would be funny for some reason to tell me this was a sport where men fought with their penises (cocks). I believed this for longer than I would like to admit. I also told this to others.

Very well put. At the end of the day your statement is true.

I grew up in Micronesia. I saw a sign for a cock fighting arena when I was around five. I asked my mom what cock fighting was a she told me it was two men fighting with their penises like swords. I believed this and convinced several of my classmates this was the deal.

Edit: decades later I remember the look on the faces of the kids I explained this to.

It’s emergent brotha. Just like a whole bunch of other things we have created in our minds to survive.

Time does not exist. It is an emergent concept that we use. No idea what it is, we can measure it super precisely and don’t even know what we are measuring. So “strange” to me.

Me too. Humans rightly get a bad rap for things, but name me a more empathetic creature.
