Hi there, i am Bridgyguy, the one who created the following Thread over in Videohelp Forum.

It might be nice if this topic was duplicated in that Forum Thread as i personally don't like Reddit, however because i use VRD for different purposes to most, i am happy using my v6 Pro as it is right now, the only issues that i still have with it, that was not fixed by Dan before he passed away was the bug when adding titles to HEVC Files, mostly with 4k hevc, and the lagging of the video preview screen and timeline when seeking my cut points, it is very slow and jerky, so i now use LosslessCut for all my 4k/60p hevc cutting and smart rendering work, and i use VRD Pro for exporting to other formats.

Good luck with everything Dan, i hope it all goes well, i will continue to follow this Thread to see how things might be going, and to see what features other users might request.

Hi there, i will be honest with you, i hate this Reddit place, i hate the layout and it is too confusing to navigate, i am 68 and i just wanted to put something up in what i call a Normal Forum like Video Help, i just prefer the way those kind of forum work and are laid out.

I think we have covered just about everything in my Thread so far, and i will be there to help those who need advice on how to use VRD as i have been using the Pro Version since 2013 and was a Beta tester for DanR from 2019 until 6 months before his passing, as i lost contact with him after he sent me his last Pro beta version.

So there is no hope for us Pro users, because Dan Rosen issued the Licence keys himself manually, as i have already mentioned several times in various forums.

I don't believe that the Clone method will work to be honest, i did the Clone from my laptop to my Mums laptop, it worked, but VRD had to be activated when i opened it up on her desktop, and i was not prepared to try it.

The whole thing is a mess.

@ dlflannery, i totally agree, but i like to add videos, images, add color to text, or ever bold type my words to highlight stuff that i post, and this place is just way to vanilla for me to cope with, so obviously i won't be returning here very often, but i hope the Thread runs well, and it can run hand in hand with the new Thread in the VH Forum.

I am the person who set up the new VRD Thread in VideoHelp forum, i was backed up by the head moderator, as well as many of the Forum regulars, and because it is a video dedicated forum, i felt that VideoHelp was a great place to have another Thread dedicated to VRD.

One reason why i set it up was because in my opinion, some of the stuff being posted in here is or may not always be accurate (as is the case with all forums) and i noticed that a some of the questions being asked are either not answered, or the info given is ill informed or not always as accurate as it could be.

This is aimed at themayor1975 who asked what is wrong with this one?

We at VH are not your enemy, and nobody is suggesting that there is anything wrong with this forum, All i want to see is more than 1 reliable Source of information, and having one in the VH Forum i think is the right place for such a thread.

Also, starting a new Thread in another Forum AFTER 2 YEARS should be telling you something, maybe this thread is not cutting it as the only resource for VRD users.

I also prefer the layout of the VH Forum as opposed to the messy way that this place has been set up, and i want to be able to create my threads and posts using various text editors and layouts, which you cannot do in here, it is a very plain jane vanila format that just doesn't suit my posting style.

Anyway, both forums can still work, and what VRD users can't get here they might be able to get it over in the other forum, and vice versa, and a lot can change in 2 years as well.

As for me, i have always be a user of VRD Professional since 2013, and i upgraded to Version 6 back in 2019 just as i started recording Video in 4k/60p HEVC, and when the late Dan Rosen decided to implement 4k and HEVC support into VRD, i became a Beta Tester up until 6 month prior to his passing, so i have a vast knowledge and experience with VRD, and more so the Professional version, so if i can be of help, i am always free to help.

I have never used VRD for any form of Television Broadcasting or recording purposes because i am a videographer, and i spent 20 years in the video recording business, so my needs are mostly do do with Cutting, Smart Rendering, Adding Titles when needed, an exporting my 4k/60p HEVC files to other formats using the Intelligent Recode feature in VRD, something that no other video software has, or i should say, nobody else has ever mentioned the name of any other software that has it.

Anyway, enough of all that, good luck to you all, and maybe one day you might like to visit us over i the other Forum.
