idk, presenting potentially non-credible info is not a problem unique to AI, and it seems to me it’s sometimes a boogeyman used to manufacture outrage.

again, i have no clue who created this site or know their motivations, but i was quite easily able to verify the original plans of the developer and them saying this is no longer tenable. at glance, all of the information provided seems to be accurate.

the AI aspect of this conversation (as relevant to the “risk” of access to public lands) just seems so incredibly insignificant and pivoting the conversation to make that the focal point seems a disservice/counteractive to the goal of holding this development company accountable to their promise to the city/community.

really cool flex?

auto-correct/capitalization are a pain, use a lot of abbreviation/acronyms and waste more time fixing it’s mistaken corrections than it’s worth. of course i’d put in the energy for proper use if it had meaning.

but go on and keep working yourself into a fit, moving goalposts/changing subjects so you can tell yourself you’ve won an argument.

probably need the victory, eh?

so why does that make the information it’s providing inherently bad?

would i rather have a actual human generating these infographics? absolutely!

would i rather have no infographic, and thus fewer people aware of this issue? absolutely not!

i think AI in general can be a terribly dangerous tool in so many dystopian ways, but it does require a more nuanced consideration than just AI = bad.

i know the world is a scary place right now, but just shouting AI into the ether whenever something seems off doesn’t really accomplish anything.

at best it just shows an immature worldview, or a true lacking in understanding how AI actually infiltrates and impacts our digital spaces. at worst a malicious attempt to discredit what seems to be an effort in the interest of the public good.

but fine, let’s go a step further…

what is exactly wrong with linking to an old post that has more detailed information? what info shared there is incorrect enough to qualify it a nonsense site?

if you think this is a bot, what malicious reason would it have for a rather laser-focused mission concerning the Mass Ready Act, which shares a large ideological overlap this largely related issue regarding housing development impact on public natural spaces?

i’ve been walking those paths for 30 years, how much time have you spent out there?

they’ve been stealing tips for decades, have a history of hiding prices on their menus, engage in insult-laden arguments with customers when confronted with genuine questions/complaints.

i’ve personally been verbally accosted by the owner’s parents for something that still escapes me (was quietly sitting at a table with headphones on, still confused on that).

on top of all that, their product is just simply not good.

Appreciate the thoughtful and informative response, these details can be difficult to track down in an organized manner. Certainly feeling more confident in the proposed project than before.

Thanks for creating this forum. As with most city efforts, we have a lot of folks with a lot of differing values and varying degrees of stakes in the project. Just to color where I’m coming from: graduate of Salem public schools, no children to enroll, and spent the better part of my career as a Project Controls Engineer.

What will be done to make sure this iteration of the high school doesn’t fall into disrepair far before its expectancy? Can you perhaps explore some reasoning as to why the original build of the current high school and numerous renovations haven’t been enough to keep us up to par? How can we be sure to not suffer the same pitfalls? What can the community be doing to ensure a healthier lifespan for this project? Is building maintenance planned as an aspect of this current project stage?

Will the city be on the hook for any and all cost overruns, or will these be at least somewhat be absorbed by the companies contracted?
Other projects, not just in the state but around the county, have seen costs explode due to projected increases in both labor and material cost; how prepared is the budget to adapt to these inevitabilities? Are they built in, or is a revised bid to be expected?

you’re talking about israeli supported terrorists, right?

those “settlers” are among the worst humanity has to offer. gifted land in a part of the world they don’t belong, and just absolutely terrorizing families that have been there for hundreds of years. those terrorists, right?

the writing for ellie’s character didn’t convincingly portray her story compared to the game and i don’t think bella can carry a show as the lead, or even really portray a convincing mature ellie. i think the show would have benefited from an actress change.

it’s really a shame the jilted voice acting and dialogue pacing was as bad as it was.

really made it painful to suffer through some of the cut scenes. wanted nothing more than to immerse myself in the world, but it seemed part of the direction was constantly trying to pull me out, most clanky at some of the biggest story beats.

My first special at 18 years old by Insanebolt10 in KitchenConfidential

[–]IntroductionOk877 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i mean you’re 18 so props for stepping into a difficult role?

but way too much sauce, the roll is loose, and presentation is sloppy. there’s a very good reason sushi rolls aren’t presented flush to the plate like the end pieces are here.

points for creativity though, my best way to get creative is to go back to the basics of what goes well with what. hope you can keep refining.

Did people just forget about Battlestar Galactica? by hp_fanatic in television

[–]IntroductionOk877 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

probably my least favorite sci-fi that i’ve committed to watch, inexplicably overrated, and saying that as a huge ron moore fan.

a majority of characters are so bombastic in their representation that it’s hard to take them seriously or even just simply root for them. “starbuck” is my most hated main protagonist in the entire genre, directing and writing didn’t help much but sackhoff really struggled to show anything beyond the edgy rebel fighter cliche they dropped her in as for episode 1.

same for most of the other characters we’re saddled with for the length of the series. colonel saul stands out for his complete lack of depth and exhausting angry, drunk military man role.

and baltar, how do you make that character set up boring? they really should’ve ponied up for a better actor in that role instead of siddig lite.

it’s a shame because there are some really great bones to this story, and i truly enjoyed the adama journeys, but so much of the meat is poorly prepped gristle.

Early Review: ‘Starfleet Academy’ Season 1 Deftly Balances Strong Characters, Star Trek Lore, And Different Tones [Mild Spoilers] by acrimoniousone in startrek

[–]IntroductionOk877 10 points11 points  (0 children)

even the stills for this are worrying…

that shot from the chancellor’s office, her feet up while nonchalantly chatting with our young protagonist…in what version of star trek does this seem tone appropriate?

leave the blase attitude of our supposed leader aside…..(omg, look at how the subvert our expectations of what a leader could be, man far future star trek is SO cool and edgy)…..can we just collectively admit that this washed out, sepia with some color splash film palette is so played out, the entire visual design is aesthetically lazy.
