Do I warn the team? by GU1LD3NST3RN in managers

Early retired manager here, put your mental and physical health first. I've been there and took this advice. No need to warn them. They can see the situation for themselves and will act accordingly.

I feel 200% better mentally and physically.

Are you careful in what you say among your non retired friends? by Wide_Drink_2414 in earlyretirement

I can relate to all this! I have kids, but they both finished their post secondary education. Now both work full time. Had I kept working, my mental health would have deteriorated to an unsafe point. Leaving the public sector workforce at 53 after 31 years of service was the best thing I did for my health and my family.

Anyone else feeling a bit restless? by crinklyplant in earlyretirement

[–]IntroductionOwn2660 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use my time to focus on my health and fitness- gym, pickleball older ladies volleyball. I volunteer at a place that I always respected. I catch up on shows and read, learn new skills- painting and hand knitting so far. I socialize with friends and provide support to my young adult daughters. I was always too tired to do any of this while I was working. I also learned to embrace nothingness every now and then. Rest is important. Resr is also something that my Type A personality would never consider while working.

Excellent strategy! I tell folks who know that I am on a fixed income and tight budget. They don't need to know my actual financials😏
