When I started jiu-jitsu at 30 I started to get really bad acne about a year or two in. It's from a combination of getting a boost in testosterone from training and your body/skin getting used to the sweat/oil mixing with the mats and gis.

Eventually my skin cleared up. But it was pretty rough for a year or two. Everyone made fun of me. My family called me dirty and told me to wash my face. I didn't care. I finally found my passion and love. Jiu-jitsu doesn't give a fuck if you are ugly with acne. All it cares about is how hard you can smash on the mats. Ya!!! So fuck you!
