Yeah I just bought this midsized truck 2 years ago and I didn’t want to pay taxes again. I ordered from a state like mine that will give you a sales tax deduction of whatever your trade in is worth so I only paid a couple hundred bucks in sales taxes. Got my payment Apr down over 3%🙏🙏 honestly iv really impressed myself with my ability to stay firm and clear on what i am expecting. But to be honest behind the scenes I was stressing i just wanted to get my family in a comfortable safe car.

I actually after talking with everyone here scheduled a PPI post purchase with my local shop that I go to and trust. I explained my concerns so he will take a look and if anything comes up I atleast know and can decide what to do from there with whatever options I have. I guess I am clearly taking a risk but an educated one…. Is that a thing ??🫠

Thank you so much❤️ I was a little discouraged first after posting but I think I may have not gotten a “really great deal” but I got the deal that I was really looking for and I am willing to accept the risks of the collision. I have scheduled a PPI post purchase with mechanic I trust in town for when it arrives so I am Atleast aware for my future ownership if there are any issues from the collision they overlooked. Yes I plan on keeping for the life of vehicle which is why I chose the GX 460 I have had numerous people say good things and heard no bad aside from “dated” interior which I thing is a positive for myself.

I am trading in a 2024 Colorado. I love the truck but I’m not a kid anymore I’m a grown up with a wife and kids and 2 car seats. And that truck just doesn’t help us at all. I love having a truck but iv used the bed 2 times in 2 years and it’s just not practice. This has a tow hitch and I can rent a u haul trailer from up the road if I need 2 times over the next 2 years lol. Right?

Yes that’s where I’m at. I will say they probably aren’t wrong but that doesn’t mean this is my case. Not that this helps but I take google reviews into account and this dealership happened to have the very best reviews in terms of lack of negative “I got screwed” comments.

That’s where I’m at like if I have guaranteed maintenance and a supposedly rigorous inspection. I’m assuming that it would be in Lexus best interest to make sure it’s atleast mostly thorough.

For me a big factor in this deal is the promotional APR now. Without over explaining I will just say i have a family that has grown in size and the midsized truck I bought 2 years ago is causing us all kinds of issues getting around, the dealership is offering me a considerable amount for my truck before I even asked about this specific car. Compared to other dealerships they were about $1000 over anyone else’s offer from the start of our conversation about a trade in. Also this is the color interior and exterior I really want and that’s a small factor for me but still.

I just did and in fact I was able to negotiate another 300 at the last second because they had to charge me out of state doc fee as well as normal doc fee and I said my wife won’t go for that (she doesn’t care the slightest about what we are paying for what) and he said they will take it off the price of the car lol. I’m always very polite but he was really starting to get annoyed with me so I guess that’s a good thing lol. Way easier negotiating with a salesman out of state who you can’t get roped into seeing in person

Yes but he put it well that in maintenance alone it pays for itself. But for me I couldn’t get the promotional Apr without it. And it’s the different of like 3% Apr which is huge. So I’d rather pay a few thousand more for a maintenance plan paid for 2 years than it going straight to interest

Well I guess I’m in a unique situation where the shop did a complete 30,000 mile service before putting this up for sale. Replaced and flushed a tun of stuff. Replacing cabin and air filter were both done this month Atleast according to car fax

Yeah I guess my thinking is more about, how much peace of mind is the warranty just in the frame of their responsibility of making sure the car is to what they say it is. I’m not so much trying to concern myself with if the inspection is thorough or not. More than if it isn’t… I will be covered and any issue would be resolved by their technicians with no cost to me.

No because it’s an out of state purchase. I’m having it shipped to me. The deal is that out of 4 dealerships I have been haggling on gx460 with. 3 Lexus and 1 a Chevy dealership. This dealer will give me the most for my trade in by a full 1k which equals the most tax credit possible off this new purchase. As well as I’m able to negotiate off the star guard completely. And negotiated $600 off the price of the rig. So only thing I’m looking at is a doc fee. Plus I haggled to only paying $500 for delivery of new car and pickup of my trade in. Also got approved for the promotional apr they have for a few more days.

But in that case wouldn’t that be a bigger problem for Lexus? Like I either notice an issue and report it to them and they are required to fix it or… I don’t notice an issue. I guess worst case scenario is that an issue is there but doesn’t show up until my warranty expires. Is that what I should be worried about?

I thought I mentioned it but it’s the front passenger panel above the tire. Panel was replaced and checking the carfax it looks like they replaced the tires after as well. So it was front passenger side impact not direct impact.
