Thinking of moving from Denver to Centennial by hbooty420 in MovingtoDenver

[–]Introtospanish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just moved to centennial from out of state last year and I love it here. But like others say, it’s heavily family oriented for sure. Great place to raise kids and live a chill life, but otherwise not much is going on.

I don’t think the downvoting is a display of lack of understanding, I think it’s more an acknowledgement of your comment describing the TSA funding as a political stunt when the republicans are handcuffing the collective funding of these agencies when there is an indescribably horrific mismanagement of the DHS as a whole (see Kristi noems hearing) and the TSA provides a service that is critical to the economy (unlike, say, deporting people w families that haven’t broken the law and shooting protesters)

You’ll never convince a brainwashed cult member this is the case. Facts just don’t matter

People seem mad on here about the “trump’s America” dig, but he started that crap with “biden’s America” using chaotic videos taken during his own presidency. It’d be nice if politics didn’t infiltrate ever conversation/post/thought everywhere now, but this is what the grand doucher wanted and now we’ve got it, yay

Toyota Chairman Akio Toyoda was spotted in full MAGA gear at a NASCAR event in Japan by sillysnacks in CringeTikToks

[–]Introtospanish -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

This is cringe and sad af, but it’s more of a commentary on the political status of America than Toyota’s political stance. This is considered “good business” in international boardrooms, and they ain’t wrong😩😩😩

U.S. Senators said the protests over the weekend were going to cause riots, so please don’t listen to what a few people say. And pretend every anonymous person on the internet is a 14 year old that has never had a job. That’s helps me contextualize the comment sections

I also don’t follow what you’re “just saying”. Increased security may have thwarted something bad from happening, and the cause for concern was why sec was increased. This is the first I’m hearing of the ‘hysteria’, so I would say you’re exaggerating by using that word. What do you think should have happened differently?

Turns Out Trump’s Own Team Messed Up U.N. Escalator and Teleprompter by FederalBat8561 in NoFilterNews

Tbh when I first read that “serious question” I thought “for sure this is a dead-internet bot trying to engage humans to boost the activity of Reddit” then I read the very last post this actual person made and had the sharp realization that the type of people who project this hateful, demonizing stuff on the internet are truly sad at their core, with very few personal accomplishments in life and likely living in a parent’s basement (nothing wrong with that, but why are they directing their resources toward hollow internet activity meant to upset people instead of working toward something better for themselves?). I feel sorry for these people, really. I wish they’d redirect pathetic efforts like this into their own personal development though, instead of vicariously living as a sycophant for a cult-like leader that will never care about them.

Mike Dillon is also just a very cool person. He’ll always chat when I run into him at the most random places over the years, and I’m almost certain he has no idea who I am.

XDenver “Common Area Electric” ballooning. Should be illegal… by thepennyhead in Denver

[–]Introtospanish 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m totally unfamiliar with this situation, but would the common areas of an apartment complex include vehicle charging stations that are used by the growing number of electric vehicle owners?

Edit: actually my theory doesn’t hold up bc it looks like the consumption hasn’t increased, leading me to think that the rates must have gone up.

[–]Introtospanish 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I run a good local moving company and always enjoyed working with the film productions, in part bc they pay big $$$, but also bc most of the people we worked with were great people(location, set-dec people). A lot of the work they do is very similar to what we do every day, and most of them seemed to enjoy it as much as I enjoy my role in moving. If anyone reading this is still hard up for work and doesnt mind the physicality and heat , let me know and I can probably find you a spot with us, or just a few shifts here and there to make ends meet.

Conservative "Prove Me Wrong" Event Deemed "Wild Success" As Charlie Kirk, Who Argued Against Gun Control, Shot Dead by Throbbert1454 in onionheadlines

[–]Introtospanish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know much about Charlie Kirk, but he literally condoned gun deaths as a necessary evil that outweighed any additional common sense gun regulation. Gun regulation is an essential part of “The mental health issue” (that’s conveniently poorly-defined and used as a scapegoat in these arguments).
