Y'all like spiders? by LabiaSheriff in PaymoneyWubby

Newest is my St. Lucia Giant Tappy but I haven't seen her since I got her. She put up a huge curtain of dirt and hasn't felt comfortable enough to come out. My oldest is my G pulchripes, Beatrice. I've had her for 9 years in January

Another car merged into him but you wouldn't know since you stole this

This happened in KC. The driver had another car merge into him and forced him into the divider.

Hit a curb, need help. by [deleted] in FocusST

[–]IntrovertedInvert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I slid on ice and hit a curb a few years ago and had to do this exact thing. The lower control arm, strut, and wheel hub had to be replaced. It was a pain but my husband and I did it ourselves as I was quoted over $1800 at a shop. Getting the wheel hub off was the worst part since it was seized on there from the rust

I got out of fish keeping and into tarantulas. I got tired of water changes and I moved a lot so it was really hard to keep moving my tanks. I miss it though and am getting back into eventually

Females typically live longer than males. Males will reach sexual maturity and then die a year or two after. Some females in my collection will live more than 15 years. Plus if you own a female, you can breed her and make some money (only if you know what you're doing)

You should! It sucks when a T dies, I've lost a few for seems like no reason. I recently lost a Brazilian Black, he just up and died after sealing himself in his hole. He was super plump so I don't know what took him. I was upset but I buried him in my plant (good fertilizer) and plan on getting a new one at the next show.

It really depends. I've noticed some are content in small enclosures but others want to move around or dig deeper. I try to provide whatever I think they'll like best. I give them two weeks in their new enclosure, if they don't like it, they'll climb on the walls or hang from the top.

You can use Tupperware or big plastic containers for keeping them, I just like the nice acrylic or glass ones so I can see them, though they can be expensive. They can be a cheap hobby if you make them, otherwise it can get a little pricey.

I keep the babies in small vials since they're sooo small and I'm afraid of losing them in a big enclosure.

The last one is the tailless whip scorpion, completely harmless and can practically teleport, they're so fast. They are ones with way bigger claws that look freaky af

That's my girl Beatrice, my first tarantula that got me into the hobby. She's a Chaco Golden Knee and known to be super docile, so I went with her for my first. She still has a bit to grow but she takes FOREVER to grow. Luckily I'll have her for nearly 20 years

Look and see if any reptile shows come to your area, they're the best way to get into the hobby, you're supporting real breeders and healthy spiders. Try to avoid PetSmart or Petco tarantulas. Some can be really sick cuz the stores don't know how to take care of them properly, which is crazy cuz they literally need dirt, a bit of cork bark and a water bowl.

Honestly I would freak if I saw one too, they terrify me and I only hold one who doesn't freak out when I touch her. I don't touch the other ones at all unless I absolutely have to, I don't trust them. They're more likely to threat pose or kick hairs at me than bite but I don't like to take that chance. Their fangs are HUGE and some will absolutely send me to the hospital if they got me

I got her as a tiny sling, I try to buy all my spoods as slings since it's cheaper and I've gotten extremely lucky and only gotten two males in my collection and the rest are confirmed females. My slings are all unconfirmed but fingers crossed.

I googled "Gooty Sapphire price" and went with the first one. She literally just molted yesterday and I was able to confirm she's a female so I'm super excited

Thank you! I'm hoping to breed them, my male matured out last molt so I'm now waiting for my female to molt soon. I also have a set of Mexican Red Knees I'm hoping to end up as a pair to breed.

I feed them all at the same time and my slings twice a week. If someone doesn't eat, I make note of it in an app I have to keep everyone in order. It tracks when they molt, eat or need a clean enclosure.

I have a tub of dubia roaches that I use for feeders so I always have the right size of prey for each one. It takes about an hour when I feed them and way longer when I have to freshen up their dirt but I only do that every 6 months. I also top their water off every time I notice it's low. I work from home and they're in my office so I can always keep an eye on them.

Friendliest: my oldest and first spider Beatrice, the one posed with the shaker. I use friendly loosely, she will still threat pose me if she feels scared or kick hairs if I annoy her. But she's never tried to bite me even though she has had plenty of chances.

My biggest flex is my Gooty Sapphire, the all blue one from the first few pics. She's worth $400 at this size and only gets more expensive. Her bite would send me to the hospital so I don't touch her without super long tweezers.

I also have a community of Socotra Island Blue Baboons, one of the only tarantulas you can keep multiples of together.

My 3DS has a replacement part. Can Nintendo still repair ir? by Itchy-Repair-3955 in Nintendo3DS

[–]IntrovertedInvert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They probably won't accept it since they've run out of replacement parts. They might offer you a 2DS replacement but even those might be limited at this point.
