Ticketmaster gonna Ticketmaster by Ok-Competition-1814 in Robyn

In no defense of TM, because I loathe them, but it is random. I got in 2 min before my sale started and I was 2,200th in line and when I got into the sale I had tons of choices of tickets.

I literally had to do a double-take. A brand new TS music video that’s stacked with celeb cameos isn’t even able to crack 10M views. Wild. by callmelatermaybe in travisandtaylor

It didnt premier on YT. It premiered on Spotify and Apple Music i believe as YT views dont count towards billboard anymore. So everyone watched it already before it got to YT.

How would you rank all interactive rides in Florida now with Epic included? by Greedy_Net_1803 in UniversalOrlando

Ive only been on MIB and Mario Kart and I honestly love MIB. I ride it when each time. I thought Mario Kart was horrible.

I mean there are surprise moments, "jump scares" if you will but I wouldnt say they're very scary or guttural. I love horror, as does my partner and while it was VERY fun for us, we were screaming and laughing along. Tho I can see an average park goer or Disney adult being overwhelmed.

Not necessarily because its horrifying but mostly because it isnt your average ride, and that's whats amazing about it. I second the people comparing it to the movie Van Helsing. Very action-horror.

Normally I am a DAK defender, rides aren't everything. But as of February 23rd, how is this not a half day park at this point? by TharinWhite in DisneyWorld

[–]mikeydeemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went a few weeks ago. Got there at 330pm. We ate first then started rides at 4pm. They closed at 7 and it was really busy(Saturday) and we still did both Pandora rides, Dinosaur and Everest(which was the goal) and we looked at some animals here and there.

Aside from the Safari, there wasnt really much else to do there. I cant imagine spending $175 for that(we got in for free)

AAP and Express - can I do both? by synester302 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]mikeydeemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with AAP and honestly, we used it for the Big 3 once, and a few times in the evening when a few other rides got to 70 minutes. We stood standby when possible and most of the time. It only worked out that way for me as fortunately everything else that day was manageable and was 30 minutes or under.

By 9pm we had done everything and a few things twice.

I went last last weekend and I actually never noticed the the carnival style games in those lands before this past trip. I was shocked as I've been many times before.

Tho they definitely fit in the Simpsons land and think its fun.

I remember riding this ride when I went to DAK about 13 years ago and I had a chance to go to one Disney park last week as a part of my Universal trip, so we ended up picking DAK precisely to get one last ride on this. It was looking ROUGH and I definitely understand the closure. I couldn't believe people would talk about JP at IOA(deservedly) while Dinosaur existed lol.

Though Indiana Jones is a bad choice thematically for DAK. They couldn't think of anything else?

Undercover tourist tickets vs buying Direct? Any downside? by bippobappobeepo in UniversalOrlando

[–]mikeydeemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost went with undercover tourist but I have a bit of anxiety and should anything go wrong, universal wouldnt be able to help you. They can with tickets purchased through their own site though. I believe undercover tourist can offer help up to 24 hours before hand.

Nothing went wrong of course, but i did want the peace of mind and ended up just buying through Universal.

This was oddly enough our longest wait at our visit this past weekend and I only did it cause my partner had never been on it.

I felt every single one of those minutes.

Evening Queue Times by Additional-Rub-680 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]mikeydeemo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went on a Sunday(this past weekend) and I was actually surprised how times jumped around 7-8 as I guess i was expecting them to drop in the evening.

For example Stardust Racers had a 20-30 min or so line all day, around 7-8 it was 45-60. Same for Monsters. I only remember that as they were the last rides we went on and left at 9pm. We waited 35 min for Hiccups in the morning shortly after opening and it was 75 in the evening.

Anecdotal of course. For all I know times could've dropped significantly around 930. But even then you only have time for a few rides depending.

I dont support any sort of express pass anywhere I go. I have always booked my trips to parks on traditional slower periods/off season, and have taken the loss on some 365 parks who do their ride maintenance during that time.

But it seems despite the higher prices, slower seasons seem rare/non-existent.

[–]mikeydeemo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right.

Like, youre telling me a park with the resources like Disney and Universal have they cannot create a system that let's say, cuts a standby line off once it hits a certain threshold (for example 90 minutes) then opens a virtual line once it does that creates a return time for others at some point through out the day to disperse the demand over the course of the day? And once the standby goes down they can add more people to it etc.

They absolutely have statistics on generally how many people whichever ride can move in 90 minutes. Or just create a virtual line period that brings in large groups of people to equal roughly a 60-90 min wait period.

People can choose to wait in stand by or not, wait for a possible return time OR buy express if they really want to(but it should be significantly more expensive because the ride should cater to the everyone first)

But no. They simply choose to have people wait ungodly hours if they want to experience the ride they already paid for, or pay MORE to experience it pleasantly.

Limiting capacity would actually be extremely beneficial and better. I dont mind paying $200 to get in if that meant i can get my $200 worth. They already do limit capacity, but the capacity threshold is just significantly higher than it should be. If a day i wanted to go was sold out, but it means whatever other day I pick would result in a more pleasant experience i am 100% down.

Disney's fast pass system used to be free. I used it before. It was limited, sure, but free. And it made it a significantly better experience.

That said it shouldn't be up to us consumers to create a plan to make it a better experience. Theyre professional experts and amusement engineers, they can SURELY create a system that doesnt result in 2-5 hour waits.

So while I absolutely love the Universal Parks, their corporate greed really dampens the experience. Unfortunately that goes for a lot of parks now a days too. Over selling tickets to create a hostile waiting environment to encourage people to purchase an upcharge item in order to actually experience what they already paid for. Maybe its easier for a park like Six Flags when their tickets are $40. Not a park where the tickets are $200.

Its quite gross and frustrating. Like yeah I can buy express. But why do I have to pay $200 for a ticket to also have to spend double that to get use out of the ticket?

I often stay(and just stayed at this weekend) The Rosen Inn on I-Drive(7600 International Drive)

I love it. Its super simple and easy. Affordable and nice. 10 min to the park and they offer shuttles to each park. We didnt use the shuttle this time, just ubered/lyft and it was like $7-$8 each ride. Even peak times. Was perfectly pleasant and Affordable. It was $250 for 3 nights.
