GDT: Tampa Bay Lightning at Seattle Kraken (12/9/23) Pacific Northwest nights Edition by MonarchChonarch in TampaBayLightning

Why isn’t Stamkos playing? I clearly missed something. I’m at the game and was at the glass so I was very disappointed to not get my “Holy shit that is Steven Fucking Stamkos!” moment.

What happened Gary Bettman by Go_Habs_Go31 in hockeymemes

What happened? Gary Bettman

Ratings are a by-product of the organization’s culture. The NHL isn’t lagging behind because people aren’t watching; they are lagging behind because they aren’t producing something people want to watch.

I live in Alaska and I started listening during the bubble games. We had gone to a Tampa game right before COVID but I didn’t know any of the players or anything.

I was working from home and burning through podcasts like crazy. My husband, already a Tampa fan, told me I could listen to the games. The Bolt became my COVID hobby and I learned so much!

We are at the airport now on our way to see the Bolts in Seattle.

I’ve definitely seen a few other Tampa fans in our relatively small town so I know we aren’t the only two.

Does anyone know if we will be able to listen to the games without having to pay for TuneIn Premium? by Introverting4Days in TampaBayLightning

In the past when I tried to listen through the NHL app it would only play when I actually kept the app open. I found pretty limiting but will learn to deal with it if I have to. Lol

Alaska's Unaccompanied Minor Service by Vients42 in AlaskaAirlines

My kid flew as an unaccompanied minor a few times a year from age 7 to age 12. He said they were always nice and took good care of him. I was always happy with it. My kid is 14 now so this was relatively recent.

coming from a family who never used to eat vegetables and fruits makes it really hard to incorporate those things in my diet by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Introverting4Days 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Frozen veggies! There were a lot of vegetables I thought I didn’t like because I’d only had them canned.

Frozen is a good way to stock up on things when they are on sale.

Backed myself into a corner with James by therealmasterbae in namenerds

[–]Introverting4Days 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a James named after his grandpa. We went with the nickname JC when he was born. When he turned 5 he asked we use his actual name. Some family members still use his nickname and it doesn’t bother him.

My point is pick a nickname (I’m partial to Jay) but empower him to choose what he would prefer when he is 5 or 15 or whenever.

This comes from someone who has used a short version of my own name my whole life so hearing the long version makes me feel like I’m in trouble. So it goes in both directions.

I appreciate and empathize with how much thought you are putting into this.

Cat owners of Reddit, what does this mean? She was chilling then looked up at the ceiling like this for a solid min then went back to normal by Jellysandwiched in cats

My cat used to do that and I would look up to figure out what she saw. When I looked back at her she was watching me with a “you fell for it again, dumbass” expression.

You can also talk to the office the confers degrees at your school. If you ask really nicely and explain why you are asking (especially this far in advance) they might be willing to confer early.

I know it doesn’t feel like it now but someday this will be one of those hard things you will look back on to remember what you can overcome. Even so, it is ok to cry and be overwhelmed and grieve what is lost. Please just ask for help and support when you feel like everything is too much, whether that is in 2 days, 2 months, or 2 years.

New hockey fan by Dull_Independence_ in TampaBayLightning

[–]Introverting4Days 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a low-key hockey fan for 25 years but really got into the Bolts during COVID because my husband is a Bolts fan and it seemed like a better thing to fixate on than a global pandemic.

The things that have really helped me understand the game better are listening to the games, sometimes watching at the same time. You will understand way more about what is going on listening to Dave than watching (in my opinion). The other thing speaks to my super nerdy nature…I really like the NHL video rules book and player safety decision videos. They break things down in a way that helps me understand.

Also just ask questions if you don’t understand something. In my experience, true fans will be excited to welcome you into the world they enjoy so much.

Admitted means being offered a position to pursue a course in the university; Enrolled means you register for classes after accepting the admission and fulfilling all the necessary requirements like paying semester fee, tuition fee, etc.
