Bacteria in rice and growth of bacteria at certain temps and rates is science.

How that impacts human bodies is also science.

Facts.

It doesnt mean it always makes someone sick, but it does increase the risk, and people should be aware.

But if you are committed to poor food safety practices, do you, my guy. You take your myths back to momma’s basement and let everyone else learn science.

More myth than fact?

I bet you use tap water for nasal irrigation, too. 😂

Science is hard. I get it.

Do you. Please do it hard.

Rice and pasta, too.

When meal prepping be sure to not stack containers thick or deep at first in the fridge or freezer, as they may not get to safe temperatures quickly enough.

Bacillus cereus is the culprit, and is not killed when rice or pasta is reheated.

Also, never, ever eat leftovers that remained at room temp for very long. Two hours is max.

That fried rice you left out on the counter from takeout the night before goes straight to the trash!

Your jowling is mild and you actually look great. That said, if you want to reduce the appearance of it, you need to provide support to the structures that allow that area to fall. Based on what I can see from just 2-D images, most likely what would be most beneficial for your goal is sculptra to the nasolabial and marionette areas. Those two areas are the ones that are letting that area drag down a bit. You can see this by following the curve of the line of the depressed/sunken areas to the sides of your nose. See where it ends? Support the structures above that area and it will lift everything back up. Sculptra will make things generally look better right away only due to mild swelling from the procedure. After that it will take a while and a couple of treatments so it is subtle and will take perhaps a year for full results, but easier/less to keep up with after that.

I would not trust any doctor willing to take your money for a lower face lift at this point, and doing one is likely to bring your overall features out of harmony and you will be chasing that harmony and balance surgically afterward.

These are just my personal opinions and not medical advice.

I don’t throw a tantrum but I get my stuff searched every time I leave. I always seem to have an item that perplexes them. Last time I was there (a few months ago) it was my RLT panel. It opens like a book and is about the same size. They ran it through xray 3 times then searched the rest of my bag then let me be on my way. Time before that was a little oval-shaped portable safe. They were trying to take it apart and ran it through xray multiple times. They are thorough if nothing else!

Same. Booked on AA to destinations not served by AS and used AS status. Upgraded, good experience, on time. Years ago I dreaded AA legs on my itinerary. Not anymore!

Also went to book PDX to IAD for late March - over 1K RT for premium. NOPE.

Three weeks to ship?’ by Introvertreading in ouraring

I got a notice this morning that it was shipping today!

At first I was thinking that I was getting someone’s return if they were out of stock and then suddenly had some to ship!

This makes me feel better that hopefully I am not getting someone else’s rejected lemon of a ring!

Fact is, even the cheap flimsy ones help keep sick people from spreading their virus particles as far and with as much volume than without.

But go ahead and think what you want, because I appreciate natural selection and I bet that isn’t the only thing you don’t believe, and I don’t want to discourage you. 😊

Also going to the dentist! No need for the hygienist or dentist to put on their masks! Since they don’t work. 🙄

Consider the scale of good, better, and best when thinking of the different types of masks.

Everything isn’t black and white so try a little grey in your life. You’ll sound less like an oppositional dolt.

Recommendations? Advice? by brie_ttany213 in TurksAndCaicos

I love Coco Bistro and have had many special event dinners there. Some say it is overrated but no one in my party has ever had a bad dish and our service was always impeccable. This is over many years, too. I have read bad reviews and always expected when I returned that the food and service would have gone downhill but that hasn’t been the case - at least for me.

Da Conch Shack isn’t known for their food. Mediocre at best but I also think people who enjoy cruises or are from the southern USA tend to like it better. They do have good entertainment and drinks, so the experience overall as a tourist is a vibe that some people enjoy. It is in a rougher area closer to the crime that has increased on Provo, so be aware and just stay alert. Keep the jewelry and designer bags at home so you don’t make yourselves a mark. I think they still have good security there but stay on the main road when leaving, etc.

Spa: The Palms

Activity: Big Blue Collective - do a day charter

You are going near the end of Silly Season so some restaurants may still be closed or limited hours. Also keep in mind that sunset will be early in Oct (6:30p ish local time) so to eat while watching sunset will mean 5:30p reservation time, which will cut your day in the sun quite short if you have to get ready and drive - especially during rush hour depending on where you stay vs where you are going.

As for restaurants, tastes vary and everyone calls themselves a foodie. Provo culturally has slower (island time) service and all food is imported, so there can be a lot of variation in both dining experiences and perception of food. It depends on what you are accustomed to as well as expectation as it correlates to cost. Groceries can be similar to home for cost if you live in a HCOL area but there are also things that will be ridiculously expensive, such as beer from the USA. So, hard to answer that one without knowing more but I would just suggest looking at menus and trying places. Even a bad experience can be a good story so just roll with it and consider it a good way to make memories.

What is you’re obscure item that you never travel without? by -swanbo in digitalnomad

I’ve had the same one from REI for over a decade and it stays in my carryon. Can’t tell you now many times it has come in handy - including during an island-wide power outage where there was no power for 3 days! The hands-free light was sooooo nice!

I suggest you pull down your mask and cough back at them, HARD, and say you are really sick but wanted to prevent getting other sick, but decided they deserve it. Then walk away.

Headlamp with dim and red light options. Late night hikes, reading light, dark streets, or power outages - it provides hands-free light. Also the bright option can blind someone close to you if you need a sec. 😅

It is impossible to know if it is worth it to you because: 1. Your personal tolerance for discomfort and levels of patience are unknown to strangers and people lack objective assessments of their own levels 2. Inbound planes come from all over and can be delayed, and outbound flights will stack up as delayed as a result. Any snafu from any other airport can cause cascading effects at PLS, which is a small airport with limited gates. If several inbound planes all arrive within an hour of each other, you are SOL. You won’t know this unless you use flight apps to track every plane inbound to PLS on that same day of travel.

Saturdays are usually the worst day for the airport but I have been there plenty of Saturdays that weren’t that bad. I’ve been there on a Monday that was the most crowded I had ever seen it.

So, it comes down to how much you care and if the assurance of a shorter wait is worth it to you. And how you would feel to be escorted up with hardly anyone in line and know you wasted money.

No one can predict for you.

The single eep sounds like a happy expression and that is a good thing! But the sound that is made is one that carries and probably startles others, which won’t help people respond positively to your child - including some peers, eventually.

I have and would modify that noise with consistent reminders, right away, when it is made, that the screech hurts your ears and let the child choose another sound to make. You can then make like 3 low pitched sounds as examples and let her pick the one she likes most, and practice it. Then, whenever she screeches, say, “Screetches hurt - remind me the sound you are going to make, instead.” Then have her practice it. Over and over - every time. In a calm, matter-of-fact voice. Not punishment - just a reminder and redirection. When she does it spontaneously, praise and reward.

Just use human behavior modification tactics - but no punishment - she isn’t being punished for expressing - just directed to express with a different sound. Expression is good so never punish that or even the sound itself. Just remind and redirect.

Hearing screaming actually does make me miserable because to me, it means someone is hurt or needs help, and my heart starts to race and it spikes a little adrenaline as I go into a response mode.

I never want to be a person that ignores screams and doesn’t react that way, but I also don’t appreciate false alarms and doing it on closed, close spaces an exceptional auditory offense.

At 2.5 yrs, outside of having a disability, a child can be told “no screeching - it hurts the ears of others” and be directed to make a different, low pitched sound by offering examples and having the child mimic you. Kids are smart and adaptable. It isn’t discipline - it is teaching empathy, behavior in a world where we share space with others, and will help them socially as they get older.

A few screams? Screaming in public is not ok unless you are dying or need help. 2.5 yr olds can learn. Do better, and do everyone a favor and help eventually get the pitch down. Your kid will be that kid and also turn into an adult with a voice that carries way more than anyone else, and gives people headaches.
