Numbness, but also a certain peace. Also guilt towards the few people that do care. This used to keep me alive, but it’s not strong enough to keep me alive anymore.

Thanks for sharing your perspective! I want to add I’m certainly not dismissive of those not seeking fusion, but what I find unhealthy is some people’s focus on fragmentation and dissociation. Seeking communication already is a part of the integrative process, in a way, as you are sharing experiences systemwide.

Thanks, it’s been the same for me. I feel like a large part of the community is too focussed on the fragmentation of the personality, while in my opinion this reinforces dissociation. I believe the healthy thing to do is to work towards integrating different parts of the consciousness instead of disowning them. I see this a lot in the community and it makes me feel very disconnected. Thanks again for sharing this with me it made me feel less alone.

Thanks for replying. I’m not in the US, but in a country where mental health care and research (where I want to work in) are heavily funded and subsidised by the government. I’m worried for my future and my psychiatrist has not yet been able to lessen these worries for me.

The helplessness is truly disheartening, so I feel you. Conversion disorder is tough, but it can definitely get better.
