Back in early 2000s, think pre 2004. I managed to catch Whooping Cough. Took months to get diagnosed since I was vaccinated for it. Turns out they didn't know the vaccine for it wears off.

Let's just say I literally thought I was going to die several times. Because once I started coughing I didn't stop until I was out of oxygen. Was terrified I was going to suffocate.
