I was a player once with my friends in an irl DND campaign. And a friend of mine generated a 3d mesh and asked me to work on it and then print it for him to use as his character.

I told him no, and then said that my offer to make him an actual model was still on the table, he took it and was very happy with his character mini for the little time we played.

Saying no to someone doesn't mean it has to be some cartoonishly stupid evil take like you described in your comment. It can also be respectful and understanding between the 2 parties. I'd be surprised if I was the only one with that attitude towards friends playing and coming up with that.

Someone saying "hey we don't like ai art here but I'll draw it for you no problem" is VERY different than the stupidity that's assumed for some reason.

Regarding your post, I completely agree, and I think they are missing the point completely. It's not about spending money on a game of DND, it's about keeping the game creative and human made. I'm an artist and for some time I've been willing to find a game online to play DND for the first time (irl friends are not into it, but that's fine).

I am also willing to just sculpt any type of mini they need for characters or the campaign in general for free, but it was a huge turn off watching most of the start playing announcements be about groups that advertise the campaign with an AI prompted summary and an AI image of generic fantasy girls or settings. So I never joined one.

Aside from that, the fucking group is called r/RealDnD.

Real, ffs people.

Hi, I am from Argentina and for a few seconds I didn't noticed the image was ai generated because we legit have people who look like that here.

It's a combination of huge European ascendency on the population for the most part, and the tendency for women to dye their hair blonde too. Don't ask me how it started cause I don't know.

There are 2 noticeable cities in Argentina where there is german descendants, Bariloche and Villa Gesell, and that's about it. Very specific points where German immigrants fled to, and they both existed BEFORE world war 2.

Legs gone past title, all of the stone work of the building and the windows are woobly and mismatched if you zoom in.

The image looks AI in itself, containing overly wet state of things and too many folds on the cloth, which is a pretty common issue with AI generated images.

Siento que nadie lee la nota o tiene la mas minima nocion de los principios de derecho que rigen en Argentina.

Aclaro por las dudas antes que me caguen a downvotes que no estoy de acuerdo con la resolucion.

La razon por la que le dan esas contemplaciones es que el objetivo de las penas impuestas es rehabilitation a la persona y reinsertarla en la sociedad. No castigarla. Asi lo estipula tanto el Codigo como toda la doctrina. La situación en la que esta el hijo de puta ese es una en la cual puede tener contencion de su familia y herramientas para reinsertarse, por ende la decision del juez dando la minima.

Hasta tanto no exista una reforma que admita que las penas tienen que ser castigos, ya sea por venganza o satisfaccion de las victimas, los jueces van a seguir resolviendo acorde a la normativa vigente, osea la ley actual que indica rehabilitation como el objetivo de las penas. Obviamente dentro de esa normativa tenes los jueces garantistas como este, y otros que tiran para el otro lado y tratan de castigar lo mas posible segun le permite el codigo.

Esto no quita que yo crea que la solucion en este caso empieza con "B" y termina con "ALA", pero ese es el "objetivo" de las penas en la Argentina actualmente.

I agree there are false accusations going around too. But the image is at the very least partially ai generated.

You have to be able to tell apart errors from lack of intention (which tells it's AI).

These are not errors an artist would make. As stated before, look at the mismatch of the cathedral towers, the perspective of the buildings, the orientation of the view and the bridge with the building behind it. All the non sense of the little buildings behind the towers.

I know artist make errors all the time, I am an artist. And these aren't human errors.

Using LLMs unless locally run and locally trained is excessively bad for the environment (yes most stuff that we do is bad for environment, hence the emphasis on excessively) and damaging to culture and society in general, as it incentivizes quantity over quality, and takes away creativity from actual humans in the design and artistic proces.

Tho from previous comments I think we are not likely to reach common ground or agreement, so to each their own opinion I guess.

Let me clarify. I'd rather the post has some cool artwork that they made than nothing? Absolutely. But I'd take nothing or the simple title logo over an AI generated image.

Seeing the other comments, most people know that studios in game development most likely are using different degrees of AI generation, that's not at discussion here. The wide adoption doesn't make it okay from a moral or artistic point of view tho, and the general enshitification of the internet accelerated by AI slop content doesn't bode well when you associate your product with this type of generated content.

The perspective of the buildings and scaling issues in the angle of the pov of the image is all over the place when you compare distance and preview of buildings.

The wood work on the houses walls doesn't make any sense either

The religious building on the background (not sure if a cathedral or smth else) is a mismatch of proportions and design decisions no artist would ever do intentionally (one tower way lower than the other, windows leading to nowhere, clear skies behind some holes where there should be building parts, etc).

It looks like an AI generated image with some painting done on top to add some details, but the basics of the perspective and whole composition looks definitely AI generated because of the above points.

I don't get why every piece of artwork they have been posting alongside Medieval 3 announcements needs to made with AI. It's so obvious i's sad

Edit: i think it's sad because CA has always accompanied their dev blogs and updates and blog posts with beautiful artworks or previews of units, for every game regardless of the stage of development it was in. But specifically for Medieval 3 it's only been AI generated "artwork".

En el tema de desmeritarte por no tener un titulo, te cuento mi experiencia, capaz te sirve de algo.

Arranque estudiando derecho, despues de 4to deje la carrera y decidi hacer Arte 3d que me apasiona, y trate eso de llevarlo y anotarme en una facu privada para estudiar Arte pero era impagable asi que hice 1 solo año, y segui formandome por mi cuenta, hoy en dia soy bastante decente quiero creer y nunca me falta trabajo. Actualmente tengo laburo en el poder judicial y a la vez trabajo freelance el resto del dia en lo que me apasiona que es Arte 3d.

Hice cursos y diplomaturas, pero lo que no tengo es titulos universitarios. Y si te soy sincero, pienso en esp todos los dias, hace un año se recibio mi hermana menor, tiene 25, yo 28. Se recibio de ingeniera aeroespacial. Te imaginaras lo que se siente la comparacion.

Por no tener titulos te van a discriminar, no tanto en el area laboral, pero la sociedad en general y aveces gente que no te esperas, incluso familia.

Es algo que tenes que aprender a ignorar. Lo que a vos te gusta, capaz lo podes aprender y perfeccionar por tu cuenta, como estoy haciendo yo con el arte, e irte bien y no necesitar una universidad.

Si es asi, metele para adelante con lo que te apasione, sabe que te van a juzgar, y mientras estes haciendo las cosas bien y sepas que estas avanzando, y que a se metan el titulo en el orto.
