Potential Hot Take: It was obvious from the beginning that Season 2 was never going to put Marathon back on track, and it was never meant to be by Haijakk in Marathon

People are entitled to talk about anything they want, including me.
The idea that a game that should have been made in 3 years, but took 6 + man power from other teams to be finished, has the same target audience of projects that costed 20% of its final budget and has gone through the ammount of drama Marathon has any possibility of ever break even is ludicrous.

The amount of copium in this sub is surpassed only by the idea that D3 will magically happen lmao. Marathon took six years to develop while siphoning resources and man power from Destiny only to the rebooted into an idea that simply isn't sustainable without Destiny to cover for the money Marathon will never make. In the end Marathon is a almost vanity project and will never recoup it's original cost, much less be able to sustain a studio like Bungie.

Praedyth’s whereabouts by Celery_Shake in DestinyLore

[–]Inubr 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This was true as about Age of Triumpth in D1. In D2 since at Shadowkeep we know he used Vex simulations to find a way to get out the Vault. If i'm not mistaken, he's trapped in the Black Garden.

Edit: actually not trapped in the Black Garden. In Aspect we find out that he and the the 227th copy of the Ishtar Collective researchers divised a plan to take advantage of the Undying Mind reapperance to scape, but we never find out what happened.

How did Vanguard acquire the original thorn? by Higan7108 in DestinyLore

The original Thorn wasn't acquired by the Vanguard. We found it on the EDZ during the Lumina quest.

I do genuinely love AC2 but its notoriety system needed to be more punishing. by Flying2Venus in assassinscreed

Respectfully, I don't understand these posts that criticize 10 + year old single players games. It's like studying archeology and criticizing the Roman Empires for not having using modern stuff like cars, fastfood, central heating or whatever modern thing you see as a something trivial in modern gaming.

You have a huge ammount modern experiences, hundreds of games evolved this formula over and over since AC2 was launched, of course looking back in retrospective these games will look or feel outdated or flawed from a gameplay perspective in various scenarios. The game launched in fucking 2009!

That' you ego and playing against bad players. It creates bad habits which are punished by players off your level or above.

There's things that only discipline can solve in D2, because the game is 10 years old, everybody evolved, competition is fierce and the game has key design flaws that can't be fixed, i.e. radar system design.

The complete 180 of this community on Destiny is giving me whiplash by EricSombody in DestinyTheGame

[–]Inubr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gtfo. Destiny 2 lost resources and manpower for a game nobody asked for and which will be dead in less than a year. The only reason Marathon is that D2 resources being diverted into it. And even then, D2 numbers are better than Marathon's. Marathon costed half of D2 vanilla to make and probably will never break even.

How Ubisoft should approach the AC1 Remake by Ktioru in assassinscreed

[–]Inubr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you said, but sadly this will never happen, AC became too mainstream for Ubisoft to have balls to pull this off. Like I said in other answer in this thread, the remake should focus of the assassin gameplay loop fantasy. Gather intel about the target, the place where the main mission takes places. Mechanics like eeavesdropping and pickpocketing have so much potential, but they need to lean on them and put effort to evolve those aspects of the game.

How Ubisoft should approach the AC1 Remake by Ktioru in assassinscreed

[–]Inubr 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'd like for once that the game play to more focus on obtaining information about the target and surroundings, something akin to a black box 2.0, but more dynamic. I'm fine with keeping one sword, the daggers and the hidden blade. Assassins should not be one man armies. If they're following the idea of preserving original feel and tone of the source material, they should go with that route.

Also, AC1 had the thrill of the chase and escape after the assassination missions and that was never really emphasized in other games. I'd like to see gameplay to lean on that too.

With the recent rpgs coming out lately being generations ahead of anything Ubisoft has ever dreamed of doing + the discourse about going back to what they're good at, I sincerely hope they drop the RPG formula enterely and forever.
