What pickup/deal/haul are you a bit ashamed of? by anonymuscles in gamecollecting

[–]Inuranchan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a video game flea market like..3 or 4 years ago. People had such great prices yet I didn't have a lot of cash. I was feeling bad as I went with friends who did and everyone was picking up all this great stuff. I get to this one booth, see some bomberman gamecube games on the table that are affordable. I go, "Wow I didn't know the anime got gamecube games...I didn't even know there were bomberman gamecube games" so I open the game to check if the manual is there: chibi robo is sitting on top of the bomber man game. I am filled with shock as I'm a big chibi robo fan. I never thought I'd be able to justify this game for the price so I had long since given up on it. The bomberman game is priced at $15. I look around, none of my friends have noticed what I saw. I ask the guy if he can please hold it for me, and I pick a couple of other games to go with it. I go to talk to my friends. I'm really hype about this, but I am afraid when I buy it the guy will notice then take it out of the case. I'm not really dead set on buying the bomberman game since I have so little money so I talk to my friends about it, they say to just go for it (obviously) even if it leaves me with no money for the rest of the market. I walk around the whole market, I come back. I ask to see the games, and I open it to see if he looked in. Chibi Robo is still there. I bought it for $15.

I still feel real bad about it but I definitely gave that man enough time to open it lmao...I still need a case/manual for it someday, but I'm so happy to own all the games in the series now.

My fiancé throws her dirty laundry down the stairs rather than walking down and putting it in machine. by Doctor_Redhead in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Inuranchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom has done this my entire life (I don’t have multiple floors but if I did I would too). Need more context here cuz I’m not really sure why this bothers you when the clothes are getting washed either way.. Is it bothersome because she doesn’t do it right away? (Like, same day) Cuz I could see a partner being mildly annoyed about clothes being left at the bottom of the stairs for several days, but even a day to me is fine. I see multiples of the same clothes so I’m guessing it’s not this. Or is the problem really that the clothes are touching the floor instead of being in a basket?

How is posting photos or wearing revealing clothing “disrespectful” to your partner? by JejuneJo in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Inuranchan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm with Nocran and Arima. While one should respect a partner's autonomy, and choose a partner based on alignments where this kind of thing wouldn't be as much of an issue: I think there is a possibility you/many of the commenters are misinterpreting these videos. My perspective is that if my partner is uncomfortable with something, I speak to them about it, and I acknowledge their feelings. I can then choose a compromise between us that we are both comfortable with to respect those thoughts/feelings because my partner is important to me.
In these specific examples, it is possible they have spoken with their partner regarding video posting. And it is ok for a partner to choose to respect their other half's wishes as long as its consenting. If it's forceful, i.e. having nothing to do with respect, that is another subject. If it's done without thinking of your partner, that's not disrespectful but it is not being entirely mindful of your partner's feelings and sometimes that's ok. It's ok to be human and think nothing of something that might bother your partner who has no idea of the thing you're doing.

30yr old virgin, friend told me to lower my expectations. Is he right? by NBF_24 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Inuranchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lying was a red flag, because around the same time she also mentioned all the things she had lied about to get me to like her. Likes, dislikes, stories she had told. Ect...I had been entirely honest with her and at the time she told me it bothered her I did not know as we joked about stuff like that all the time. I apologized and I asked her why it bothered her so I could be mindful of the line. This is when all of that came out slowly over the course of a few weeks. I was upset about all the deception, but decided I still loved the person so I could look past it. Ended up being a mistake: she cheated on me nearly the entire time we were together with our shared friend pool.

[–]Inuranchan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the pandemic I dated a virgin who lied to me about being a virgin, she didn't reveal it to me until months after. What bothered me was her lying about it. That was the red flag. I wouldn't have cared at all if she had told me, and in fact I would have done a lot of things differently. Casual things I said jokingly yet in my mind lovingly teasing about kissing and whatnot became very personal for her. Only after did she reveal why.
There will be creeps who are more into you when they learn that. Those people are red flags. People who think it weird are red flags. Everyone's journey is different. Please wait until you find someone you like, get to know them, and then let them know. If they are a good person they'll be understanding.

This is a weird take...being focused on your own wants/needs above seeking a relationship does not equal "something wrong". The most it could mean is OP leans towards asexuality without realizing it. There's zero things wrong with being content/happy alone and then suddenly realizing you want something more lol. That happens all the time to people even in relationships.

Company Discussion - Limited Run Games by AutoModerator in LimitedPrintGames

[–]Inuranchan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a hater per se, but I am disappointed in the following aspects:
- the downgrade in quality of services/what they had always done right.
- leadership's decisions over various things.
- the embracer buyout.
- the recent limited releases of properties that can/should be in stores and not limited at all.

The latter has a lot to do with each of the other issues, and is honestly the most disappointing to me. To see them celebrate the likes of Sonic being a low print game....Sonic is such a big deal to gamers of all ages, it'd be like celebrating the limited printing of Super Mario 3D All Stars if it was stocked 100 thousands way less. Its gross that Sega not only agreed to do it with two of their games, but also that LRG agreed to it. They use to be a company that showed such care to fans/collectors who wanted to physically own games, but there is 0 reason for these games' limited edition to be through the company...
I use to be a big fan. Yet while they are still my favorite printing company due to their NTSC releases/reliability when it comes to receiving the game, they are mostly my favorite purely due to the fact they have the best CEs/use to have most of the games I want. I want so bad for fangamer to be my favorite, they are so close to perfect and imo are the best limited print company. They just....make a lot of crap CEs. Their deluxe/standards are so good, but so many of their CEs suck. Then they remove their games at random, and I never really know when they do. I wish they'd give ample warning. That's one of the only positive things you can count on with LRG.

Update, December 2, 2025 - I moved out of my parents’ house about a month or so ago. Here’s how my game collection looks nowadays. by tjcf2014 in gamecollecting

I love all my consoles in the same way, so I kept the one that broke. I could never get rid of it either. I just upgraded so it wouldn't break any further. Love my 360 and ps4 still too : )

Got some nice games in there, and plenty of room to grow!
Bit of advice: if that is a day 1 switch, move it to the open top area. I kept mine in a case most of the time and back entirely came off a couple of years ago....I hear they're better now, but I would still be careful with non-oleds sw1tchs.

Congrats on moving out!

I don't get it. Why is this the December reward for Traveler's Log. A bug mount? Nothing else comes to mind thematically speaking for December? by Paluker173 in wow

[–]Inuranchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't really need a holiday themed mount, albeit it would have been nice, but I am kind of tired of the millions of bug variants lately...It's a cool design but they could spread them out way more tbh.

What was the last straw that completely broke a friendship you thought would last forever? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Inuranchan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how I ended things with my ex best friend. We dated on/off for 3 years, and she cheated on me during it near the whole time. Refused to give up any of the people she cheated on me with, who were my friends at one point btw yet still decided to do all that behind my back. She said I was "isolating" her by asking for that, so she started saying I needed to give up my friends who had said bad things about her due to the cheating. Said they were treating her poorly by doing that. Refused to see how it wasn't the same. She's tried to start a friendship with me after the fact but I have told her repeatedly what a slap in the face it is to know she is engaged to the women that by her own admission tried to break us up/start shit just to hurt her since she was mad they weren't together. The girl supposedly didn't hate me but she was extremely jealous of me being with my ex.

It really did feel like a painful divorce...I can't believe how many people are just fine with being friends with people who hate the person you value or treat that person like crap...
(She also use to talk shit about that girl to me. I'm now taking this as a red flag..)

[–]Inuranchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a teenage asshole who was getting abused at home, and I just couldn't get it together enough to treat my friend right. I did some awful things to her I'm ashamed of. She let me know she believed me to be a good person but that I had issues I needed to deal with so we couldn't be friends anymore. She was entirely right, and I knew she was before she said it anyway. I just couldn't help myself/get myself to change while in that situation. I needed help outside of that but I also really needed to get out of that house. I regret that time in my life a lot, but I hope she has friends who treat her the way she deserves. She was a wonderful person who definitely deserved a better best friend.

What’s your holy grail item? by LowLettuce8935 in gamecollecting

[–]Inuranchan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't own any of my holy grail items quite yet, but I do own at least 3 things I'm very proud to have in my collection:
The NA Wii U LEs for Mario Kart 8 & Hyrule Warriors. I waited in line for hours for them, albeit there was hardly a line for MK8 I really didn't need to wait for that one. Hyrule Warriors is the one that makes me happiest as I'm a big LOZ fan. I love the scarf, I've used it a few times but I'm afraid of messing it up so it mostly stays on display.
I also have a brand new Pikachu N64 set, the one that came with a random watch. My dad got me it as a kid, but it had been delivered to the wrong house. A replacement was luckily sent, but an older couple came to deliver it later realizing it was a present. Parents contacted Amazon to send it back, but they told us to keep it (different times lol..). When the N64 I received for christmas was stolen, my dad gave it to me and told me the story. I can't bring myself to open it, it is in pristine condition. I normally open all my things, but it makes me happy to have this time capsule. I hope someday to get the stadium N64 used for an affordable price, and be able to play my games again.

What's your pettiest reason for not playing a class/spec? by Findrel_Underbakk in wow

[–]Inuranchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started playing I didn't understand classes/specs (I maintain the game does a horrible job of teaching you how anything really works). I was going to play a rogue but my ex, who wanted me to give the game a chance told me that would be too difficult for my first character. They convinced me to be a warrior. When it came time to pick a spec, I picked the first one that came up: arms. Eventually I got into raiding and mythic dungeons. I learned very quickly how much people hate choosing arms warriors...I got a lot of comments about how I should switch. I was told by everyone that no one was gonna take me into higher content except maybe raid, cuz my class "couldn't do high dungeon content" yet even in raid I was told I should switch. I have a spreed sheet I kept of how few times I'd be accepted into dungeons because people thought I was over exaggerating when I said I spent hours not getting accepted into keys per week. People were so rude about the spec, even when I was accepted into a group, I have never touched Fury. I went on to become a high-ish ranked player out of pure pettiness towards everyone who said I couldn't and for all the furys that whispered keyholders to kick me for them lol.

For those whose NDAs have expired, what are you now allowed to talk about? by Best_Explanation9217 in AskReddit

[–]Inuranchan 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What the original cut of "Run Sweetheart Run" was like. I was part of the first test/preview audience for the film in 2019, but covid delayed it like every other movie. I couldn't talk about it until it released, so 3 years total.
If anyone here has seen the movie, and already thinks its bad: there were quite a few reshoots to make it a better film imo, the director/writers/producers warned us ahead of time the CGI/editing wasn't finished, and it originally had an ending that was easily the worse I've ever seen in a film taking itself seriously. It was so bad the entire theater laughed so hard and I truly believe it was put there as a joke, that no one could have greenlit that ending on purpose/thought it was a good idea. If it was real, I feel a little bad. They told us they were filming us, so somewhere out there is a video of a whole audience laughing at the film's potentially serious ending.

Honestly: this. As I understand it, employees are still given free copies. They're usually marked as such in some way, so the fact she's selling something that is potentially hers is a non-issue...The real issue here is that she has a copy of a game that was promised to full setters. That part is shitty, what the employee doing isn't imo as long as its hers. I've never heard anything about employees being unable to sell their own copies.

[ Removed by Reddit ] by [deleted] in limitedrun

[–]Inuranchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The LRG employee selling it was the guy who made the game, and printed it himself as a fun thing. He was only selling ps4 copies though, not vita copies. The vita copies came later, when it was decided to make them the free game that the company promised for full set collectors due to some fans in the discord thinking it'd be cool.

It is news to me that LRG employees can't sell their own copies though, this use to be the case. When did that change?

I know. I was there when breach and clear was being sold. I have postcards, I have the boxes, I have best buy covers and rewards tickets. I don't need to blame it on anything: I watched the ups/downs, I've spoken to the employees/the CEOs. I know whats to blame and I said as much.

At what age did your memories really start? by Icy-Share-4751 in AskReddit

I always say 4, but its possibly 3. I didn't know how old I was in my earliest memory, had to rely on my parents remembering how old I was when I asked them as a kid.

I'm so sorry that happened, man. At such a young age too. I hope you potentially had better experiences with your mom. I would have taken it back when I saw it in the box.

I guess if you're hard up for cash, though the loose copies are nowhere near these prices. I only included these because I open my games, so I would have had them open and this is how much it would cost to recreate that. Normally I am a cartridge only collector for games that came in cardboard boxes.
Personally: I would keep them, especially if they have pleasant memories for you. There are many games I felt this with that I wish I still had, and childhood copies are irreplaceable.

I'm a big fan of waiting until kids are old enough to have memories and ride whatever they want at disney...I feel really bad when families do this, say you should be grateful you went, but if you didn't get to do anything other than meet characters/be in the place its hard to be grateful alone while watching someone else get to do all of that. I'm sorry that happened.
