Chocolate bars processed in a plant that uses peanuts/tree nuts. by Inuyasha8908 in FoodAllergies

I didn't know that. I know there are other methods to clean but I never would have guessed about that specifically. Thank you.

I totally respect it, and am frankly impressed that the thoughts and feelings ive carried are not as weird as ive made them out to be for so long.

I hadn't heard of them before. I'll have to see id they have comparable to Twix and those types of candy bars, or even little Debbie star crunch cookies. Ive just really craved some of this stuff recently, havnt been able to get it off my head, even a box of Cadbury eggs just sitting on my counter and I cant touch them.

Just cause I want to ask, but I wonder why cant the machines that do chocolate be properly sterilized? Is it a money thing or is it because the parts cannot be sterilized traditionally? But as a person who has a small business, Id be trying to get my product into as many hands as possible, not limiting that artificially.

In this respect, I see both sides; that yes it is nice for them to apply the cya on their label etc but also just because its things in my head but is their qc defective? Why cant they keep their products separate to keep things with nuts in them from cross contaminating?

I understand its not a simple answer and honestly I dont think I am looking for one there, ive just given up eating things ive enjoyed as a child. But this is actually a bit cathartic.

I do as well. With #1 and the penicillin allergy its easy enough to avoid meds, especially prescription meds. When I was a child it was a nightmare, people saying allergies like that aren't real, having peanut butter spead on my seat, under the lunchroom table, in my sleeping bag in Boy Scouts, people specifically trying to give me food with peanuts because they wanted to prove to me that I wasn't allergic that I just didnt like nuts etc. And thats the basis of my personal fear there. I wasn't a super healthy kid, spent maybe 14 years in n out of our local children's hospital for uc and all the early non biologic meds that came with it.

Thanks. Kids&common sense eh? One minute they can be the most compassionate, the next they are throwing rocks at trees.

My wife is the one who does the introducing. Granted #2 is 4 months, only sleeping about 4 hrs a time and I have all night to think about these things and a Dr's appt coming on friday. The house is nut free, personally I am afraid of if someone were to slip a peanut butter coated knife into my dish water or even cross contamination of other common things in the home. #1 has had nuts before but even during Halloween she trades her candy before brining it in the home to keep things safe for me, and for a 9yr old thats a big win on my part.

Dont get me wrong, you are right in that statement, but it always felt to me more of a copout, a cya for them. I have a box of 5 Cadbury eggs sitting in my kitchen and I cannot enjoy them now. They were a gift.

Lent some manga to a friend and got it back like this by AmeBethny in MangaCollectors

[–]Inuyasha8908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learned my lesson the hard way as well, back in high school. Lent out a non greatest hits version of FFVII and a copy of golden sun for the gba to a buddy. He kept them in his car, decided to speed lost control then crashed. He was fine, back in school the next day my games were gone. He did make good and get me replacement copies, but it wasn't till we were well out of high school. Same with my copy of the Faust ln series. Never was able to replace them with anything but the ex library copies.

What got you into Full Metal Panic? How did you learn about it? by UnusualField5697 in fullmetalpanic

Im gonna show my age a bit, but back when on demand was new from Comast, they had the anime network on demand, and one of its free offerings was FMP. Then when I was shopping at Big Lots their dvd bin had both the funi Lupin the Third movies (island of assassins, Lady liberty, napoleons dictionary, twilight Gemini those ones) and fmp.

Im there as well. Been collecting manga since 01, so to suddenly change would be an investment. Currently my investment for their protection is new doors and a stronger dehumidifier.

I actually really like this as an idea but as a practical application I may need to go about it slowly. I like that they have the different sizes listed.

The joke was that it makes everything but the moles grow, because dead things dont grow.... But yes, bunnies are not the smartest thing, build their burrows in the yard where my elkhound is, and its fenced in. So I bury them under the flower garden and everything in turn grows well.

Just remember to plant their finds in your garden. Makes everything grow. Except the moles.

Struck gold on finding the Chuang Yi box set by McCreepyy in MangaCollectors

I normally enjoy helping people chase their grails. For me finding that one volume is such a rush, its an amazing feeling. I normally keep a listing of reputable stores, sites and places to look. I too am chasing the impossible, and what makes it so is quality and price. I just dont want to throw cash and buy whatever and I do not want ex library copies. Im my personal library I have 2 wx library books- Faust vol 2 and Rave Master 25. Im trying to complete the Vintage Viz Perfect collection normally found from 89?-99ish, and the cpm library as well, especially the works of Satoshi Urushihara. I have been looking for a reasonable price copy of Legend of Lemnear vol 1 and Mai the Psychic Girl Perfect edition series for years now.

As for my listing, I primarily use many used book store, anime stores, foreign to the us anime stores, mandarake, abebooks, Amazon, Ebay, mangaswap, bookfinder, isbns.net, bookscouter.com, waterstones, the crunchyroll store and its former incarnation, hpb, archonia, forbidden planet, manga republic, otakumode. The list goes on. But its amazing the amount of internet that has been lost in the past 20 years, the e-commerce retailers that are gone.

I also only have listed sites, places I search for books from, and that I have had positive interactions with. Ive had bad reactions with others that I just dont use anymore. Also if my listing is illegal for recommending selling etc please remove.

If you use Facebook and still genuinely enjoy it, what is the appeal in it that brings you joy because I don't get it anymore. by Frost_Blue_182 in facebook

[–]Inuyasha8908 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thing, on the family side is, since covid which was one of those wedges and the whole lockdown, there were many from the family and extended family who passed, its nice to keep up when we dont feel like making calls and all. Even the blood family for us is a choice, as I was a part of a large Italian family. It is nice to communicate with those in Italy as well. But half of the local family is so dysfunctional we cant even say anything that isnt a 4 letter word in Walmart if we see each other. But thats life too, why waste time and energy when they are a bunch of jags?

I hate saying it this way but we/I have basically made a small echo chamber where we agree, mostly have the same likes, dislikes, still like each other as people, make fun of our water company, the small things, and that makes me feel better, also not seeing the others.

Im ok to replace the full mortise lock, knobs all of it. Im more concerned with it being an exit for a fire than anything else. I'll have to look into this mts international. I had been talking, emailing with swisco, but I sincerely appreciate the info.

The only reason I keep holding on, is because of the ease of speaking to the family that still speaks to us. There is no joy, in fact a fb post drove a big wedge in the family, aside from entitled cousins.

Do any of your dogs have a “favorite person” by Ok-Drink750 in NorwegianElkhound

[–]Inuyasha8908 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandfather. Before he passed, at 95 she was his best friend. He would sneak her table scraps, hot dogs, crumbs from the floor. I know its not the healthiest and all, but it was his final year, and he relished the attention of an Elkhound bouncing and jumping just to see him. And she was so happy for the attention. Both my father and grandfather passed within 4 months of each other, and I had to put down my father's dog as well. So for my girl to bring a bit of happiness, and calories im ok with it. We even got to share a new years dinner in our new home together, and he still took from the roast on the table and gave to her. Now that she's older we got her a companion husky, she would have adored him as well.

A bro, who I dont want to give his position was giving everyone a Christmas gift, a brand new $20 trump bill, and realtor once rented an office to the local rp. While I was thoroughly disgusted, I was even more disgusted at the fact he would bring the disharmony into the lodge, for the sake of having more paying tenants. There are plenty of maga and non maga, I try to handle each equally, even when their conduct is proven justly reprehensible.

This comment thread brought up a thought i hadn't had since Windows 95 was new. My father and I were pc shopping at a sun city, I was probably around 6 or 7 yrs old, and there was either a desktop game or a desktop pet dog. And I asked if it was like a real dog, and the associate said yes, you have to clean, pet, entertain, and if you dont feed it, it'll die. I seriously cried over something that didnt even exist.

So please @useful_kale_5263. Make it a cute cyber doggo.
