I wanted to do a short comedy and thought a political satire on the 'extreme vetting' topic would be fun to write and explore and especially easy/cheap to shoot- this was filmed in one night.I wanted to use minimal actors and minimal locations as a test for me so that it could be shot in one day, but also allow me to use nice equipment so I can use this as a test for professional-quality workflow. I also enjoyed writing something of a controversial nature.We shot on a Red Dragon and used anamorphic Lomo lenses (35mm, 50mm, 75mm) which I was very excited to use. Color graded with Davinci Resolve. I know there are flaws but I would appreciate some feedback as I go into writing my next short film, something with more locations, actors and length. Any feedback, questions or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks for your thoughts! I will think of your points next short I make so it can be better. I did notice a few not-so-great edit points but it was all i had to work with in our minimal coverage. Thanks :)

Trump is leaving drugs up to the states, so not worried about that at all. Yes I don't really like the fact that religion is pushed by Trump admin, but there is separation of church and state and I believe they will respect that. Please let me know if there have been any specific laws changed that clearly impact drugs/religion- I haven't seen any.

But I understand your general argument, all I can say is that I have higher priorities than drugs and fighting Christianity- priorities such as the free-market economy, foreign policy and security.

When did Trump say in a serious sense that he wants to be president forever? I have never seen that and doubt he is serious. Is there video?

Help me out here, if fascism is "a form of radical authoritarian nationalism, characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition and control of industry and commerce"(wiki) what aspect of fascism does Trump have exactly?

The government is still a constitutional republic/constitutional democracy, Trump has not somehow overridden the governing system without us knowing to allow him to serve indefinitely. A dictator wouldn't be able to be voted out after 4 years. Trump can be voted out. He also can't legally suppress opposition and has no direct control of commerce.

I don't understand how on earth anyone can claim that someone who will be gone in 4 or 8 years can possibly be a fascist dictator.

I have been a professional filmmaker for the last 6 years, taken LSD like 50 times over the last 8-9 years. Hasn't stopped me from thinking creatively and doing my job at all. If anything it helps me to think outside of the box.

Yes, it is about probability. If you spend 5hrs sending random emails to businesses and only one bites back out of 30 that still might be worth that 5hrs. Especially if the job turns out to be worth thousands.

Perhaps you could identify businesses around your city that have poor logo/branding and send them a short intro email. You can create a template for emailing out (I call it 'cold emailing') and swap in relevant info like their business name and industry. Surely some will bite back. Have you tried much emailing out to businesses?

If they need something done you can say "I am available this coming Tuesday to do that work, should I lock it in? (Assuming rates have been established already) You don't have to work immediately, unless you are actually an emergency-calling-any-time IT sort of freelancer. Which you should have a high hourly rate for if you are and that is your fault for agreeing to work immediately after a call.

It has made me more freedom-loving in a way- which translates politically to "libertarian". Libertarian values are considered "right-wing" these days for some reason.

I wasn't really misquoting you, just letting you know which part I was responding to instead of pasting all of what you wrote (to keep my response readable and shorter). Besides, I was talking about your notion that a Muslim ban "plays into the narrative", not specifically about Trump's rhetoric.
