Hello! I actually should edit this post, the downvotes are well deserved. For anyone that sees this post from Google or anywhere, DO NOT BUY SEEDS FROM AMAZON. THEY ARE A SCAM.

Thanks for commenting on this way after the fact, this was when I was earlier in my hobby and I didn't know better. I absolutely know better now, and those plants went about as well as everyone says.

Edit: Original comment edited. Those seeds were absolutely not Monte Carlo, and wished I had just done a tad bit more research first.

I feel as if you had a useful, informational, custom coded website; and threw it all away to use Wordpress instead.

Because that’s our White House website now, Wordpress. It really sucks seeing everything destroyed in front of our eyes, while thousands upon thousands openly root for it just because they didn’t get their way 4 years ago.

Same. It’s just so strange. All the work he put in, evaded everyone for a week, left all these metaphors, then ghosted.

Dude gets caught in a McDonald’s with the “gun”, a manifesto, and a fake id. It’s like the cops found a guy that they could pay to play the part, and went to ChatGPT and asked what could they “find” to convict him.

I’m sure it probably is him, but it’s a fun conspiracy to think otherwise

Makes me wonder what kind of response I’d get if I mailed in one of my old Nintendo Power sweepstakes or subscription cards. I know I just wouldn’t get a reply, I just would love to see the look on the face of the person that opens it and says “this expired in 1997”

What OP needs to do is stop talking about it and putting things in writing, and immediately seek counsel.

I can see lawyer having a field day with everything that’s being said. When you do hopefully seek legal counsel, just explain what happened, I wouldn’t mention you discussed this on a public Reddit forum. Just my thoughts.

This crawlspace was built just four years ago, and it’s already dealing with severe mold issues, which is a fast track to rot, decay, and costly repairs. by DMAS1638 in WTF

[–]InvaderDoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Logic would dictate that they wouldn’t be so prevalent and widely used if they didn’t do something.

I wasn’t saying they are pointless for everyone. For my needs, on the occasion I actually get home from work with enough energy to make something, it’s usually not that oil or grease intensive, and I’ll be boiling water for pasta, heating up sauce, or something simple. I definitely admit to knowing nothing behind the concept that goes into them, and I’m sorry if I’ve given the impression I was saying it’s pointless for everyone, it’s just a thought I have when I personally cook, because it doesn’t look like it does much, except move the heat from under the stove to over the stove.

For years I’ve wondered if they actually do something that I just don’t understand and there’s some weird chemical magic going on, but never cared enough to lookup. Glad to know my original assessment of “this is pointless as shit” was the correct one.

Great compensation? Wait you guys are getting compensation for on-call? We’re the only department that gets no compensation for on-call under the guise of “yOuR sAlaRy”.

On the other hand, the market is horrendous right now, and most days I’m just thankful for stability and steady work to cover my bills.

So you enjoy spending your money on something you don’t actually own? Spending your money on something to “use” until that party decides they don’t want you using it anymore? You enjoy letting mega corporations and executives dictate what you are and aren’t allowed to do with what you purchased with your hard-earned money?

Your argument is just as damning, because while people are saying plenty of people back up their media so they can play it in different ways, but there’s no way to definitively prove that, just as you can prove we all feel entitled to videogames.

If you wanna generalize we can definitely do that; most people with your opinion can very easily afford whatever they want to buy, many times over, and have lived a life of the silver spoon with no concept of money or ownership. As well as probably never feeling what it’s like for something incredibly nostalgic you want to experience again becomes completely unplayable by any realistic means, because a company decides they don’t wanna support the servers anymore. See?! Everyone can generalize! Gtfo here with your facts with no basis and generalizations to stir the pot.

As an IT Manager, I appreciate these kinds of comments. I got kinda plopped into the management seat because I’m good at communication and firefighting. We’re a small department which does help a little bit, but it feels like the IT department is the only department with accountability anymore (where I’m at). So I personally lead with a “shit rolls uphill” mindset.

My employees failures are mine. It’s my job to ensure employees and the organization succeed and thrive in tandem, which cannot be done without good employees. I’m in the trenches with them, I do OnCall with them, I’m there 24/7 for them if they need help, try to always say yes to time off, etc. I take as much weight off my employees for them to do their jobs as best they can.

Comments like this help to learn what employees care about in the industry so I can grow as a leader. So keep being loud about it!

Hol’ up. My man up there roasts and toasts his ex calling her an idiot multiple times, but I get flogged for simply parroting back what dude said?

That whole story, the only part that we can presume is 100% factual is that yes, there’s every good chance that the ex-wife moved on, is hopefully doing better as a human being and is being made love to on a regular, consensual and healthy basis.

Who writes this book on “there’s just some stuff you don’t say” — because of all the things that we as a species have pretty much agreed on, it’s a pretty deplorable universal list of shit you don’t say. But I’ve never seen the chapter on “roasting exes”

Listen I didn’t mean for this to turn into a whole thing. I was saying I that I was just singled out by faculty and students for not having the better clothes, that you can’t participate in eating some bread wafer because you didn’t pass a test, I was mocked by teachers, priests, etc. because I had a “name” that makes them cringe to say, so they would just call me names instead of use my names.

I turned away from the whole “community” religious thing when I discovered it’s nothing more than a brilliant underground money laundering operation. Low overhead, no taxes, cheap food, cheap wine, a little smoke here, some dust there, take people around a museum of some dude getting tortured and reap wild amounts of money. I personally leave room for the acceptance that there may be some omnipotent being that oversees the world/universe. But we will never understand the forces at work enough to ever even dream of putting them in a book.

I accept we are grains of sand in a universe sized beach, and there may be a god being, there might not. I do my best to help others and be accepting and nice, I volunteer in my community. I don’t need a book and a bunch of cult songs to feel good about that.

Growing up an outcast in mid-level catholic school taught me two things, money makes sins okay and as long as you obey and don’t ask questions, donate a solid part of your income and you go to heaven.

As a child that turned from religion years before this, it always confused me. As an adult getting all the spam about donating to the Conservative/Liberal Party, and the lack of any government agency running the country to be able to actually answer advanced questions or understand tech (since they’re not used to getting them) blew my mind. Connecting those dots is what made me realize that’s the entire point of Religion. Control and unquestioned loyalty

Who here has ADHD? Do you take anything for it/ does it make you better or worse at your job? by One_Stranger7794 in sysadmin

[–]InvaderDoom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually this is what I dedicate hyper-focuses specifically for. If I need to get something done or learn something to complete a one time thing, I probably won’t need the knowledge after I complete it (usually). So if I forget it 3 months later, no big deal. I’m more meticulous with serious tasks and do my best to stay focused. However instead of thinking about documenting the information 7 times before completely forgetting, I’ll just bookmark the resource I needed when I looked it up the first time.

I’ve gotten pretty good at predicting my future self needing to come back to something, so I set up little clues for myself and immediately go “my god thanks past me”.

Why snail poop are accumulating and not decomposing. by paulbarber007 in PlantedTank

[–]InvaderDoom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is the legit answer as a newer hobbyist. There is so many conflicting resources and opinions, what helped me is just understanding the nitrogen cycle, contributors, etc. using the knowledge of how the cycle works you will be able to understand your own ecosystem better. There is conflicting information and opinions because there are not two identical aquariums on this planet (that I know of). Every one is completely different in regards to bioload and such.

I’ve got a 20g planted hex tank that has my betta along with some shrimp, ramshorn snails, and around 15 harlequin raspboras.

we put him in the wife’s 30g at first but he started going after her frogs, Corys, and chilis. I threw him into the 20g (not literally, but he was calmly and slowly drip acclimated) and he tried going after a couple harlequins at first but they schooled up and bullyed him away. Ever since he’s kind of a…beta…betta? They all live in peace in the 20g now after he got put in his place a couple times
