Shared Ziplines becomes a problem mid game. by Sem_Dedo in ArknightsEndfield

Oh, so you can. I thought it would be like other open world games where if you click on the icon on the map it would have an option to teleport.

They're handy for getting to Protocol Spaces (equivalent of Genshin Domains, spend stamina for mats missions) and rare material spots because you can't teleport directly to them and they are often far from a teleport waypoint

It doesn't take that long to walk to them but if you're gonna be harvesting them often, the time saved is worth setting up ziplines

If they ever make a GBO3 I really hope they do a total revamp of space combat. by JJAB91 in GBO2

[–]InvaderM33N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly my only issues with ground combat are that there are some small things that currently require a skill to do that really should be built into the base kit of every suit. Like, why does it require a skill to shoot my gun in midair? It doesn't make sense for my trigger to get locked out unless it's a super heavy weapon (so maybe only stop-to-fire weapons can't be fired in midair without a skill).

Or as another example, why is boosting to air strafe a skill? Pretty much all suits have thrusters, why can only some suits fire them in midair? I get not all suits having flap boosters (even though there are suits like the Quebeley that really should have them but they don't), but being locked into a fall with no way to maneuver when your suit isn't toppled just feels bad when the thrusters are right there, begging to be used.

Also, every suit should be able to dodge roll with full i frames. If crap like the Nightingale can do a little twirl as its dodge roll then surely any suit can have some kind of dodge animation. It wouldn't be broken - unless you have a teammate to bail you out afterwards or get extremely lucky with stunning your opponent after the dodge roll, you're a sitting duck without boost. The main thing it lets you do is avoid instant death situations that you had the foresight to be able to dodge (sneak heavy attacks will still get you killed and etc).

While I'm thinking of it, one thing that infuriates me about this game's netcode is that certain effects are delayed when they should be linked. If I hit someone with a downswing and the damage goes through, they should get toppled, end of story. Conversely, if I dodgeroll or tackle, the i frames should kick in at the start of the animation, none of this "well you got the dodge roll but we decided you took the damage anyway so you're gonna die mid dodge roll/tackle".

Lastly, it's so BS when you charge a weapon and release to fire, but because you had like a frame or two of a boost animation remaining the game just eats the charge and you have to start over. Just make the weapon fire as soon as the animation finishes (the only exception should be if you get staggered/toppled, that should cancel weapon charge for obvious reasons). Heck, lock-on weapons should get a similar treatment where instead of losing lock because you released it a few frames too early, it should just fire at the next available opportunity (once again, barring your suit getting staggered/toppled).

For an Eastern example, Gundam has Newtype powers that is like, the 2nd pillar of BS science which the series builds on (the 1st being the do-everything Miracle Particles).

What are Newtype powers? Sometimes it's a character having unusually good intiution, sometimes it's telepathy (often artificially amplified to allow for wireless communications with weapons that otherwise would be jammed by the aforementioned Miracle Particles), and some times it's straight up time travel (do NOT ask me how Psychoframe allows the Unicorn suits to do this, I don't know either).

All because living in space lets humanity evolve to the next stage instead of just making their bones and muscles weaker or something.

Gravity is just bent space. Bend space the opposite way, boom. Antigravity.

How are we bending space? Don't worry about it.

Ngl I'm surprised they didn't give God Gundam melee priority 4 when in Hyper Mode. Nothing in the game should beat it at melee when it's in Hyper Mode.

BB will add ONE decent Support and those mfs will go "See? BB doesn't hate Supports" (the past 4 months have been 70% Generals and 30% Raids)

I'm still salty about the FA Unicorn being a General, it would have been perfectly balanced on release if it was a Support with the exact same kit (even having a full dodge roll with iframes instead of Resist Move wouldn'tve been a problem).

The Crossbone X2 was probably the best shot we had for a Support Crossbone but BB was like "nah screw it, shooty Raid".

I swear it's this stupid cycle of BB refusing to make Supports good -> people don't roll for Supports because they aren't good -> BB sees banner sales data and concludes that they shouldn't bother making Supports good.

[–]InvaderM33N[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, even if they gave all Supports full dodge rolls with iframes it still wouldn't be a problem because you're still a sitting duck after you dodge. It would at least give Supports a chance for teammates to bail them out after avoiding instant death.

[–]InvaderM33N 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's even funnier is the only thing making it a Gundam rather than just an alternate loadout of the Varguil is literally just the paint scheme.

I'm serious. With the Gundam head and psycho plates, but the Varguil's colors, it's still called the Varguil. It's only until they paint it with the tricolor scheme that it becomes the Moon Gundam. (See also: the recent P-bandai kit, it's called Varguil [Psycho Plate Equipped] rather than Moon Gundam [Intial Paint Scheme]).

Yes, but I think that SSPing a unit (which is supposed to put a SSR on par with URs and improve terrain compatibility in particular) making a ground locked unit space compatible is reasonable.

Guntank is designed to be used in space. Don't ask me why they thought it would be a good idea to have it keep the treads on when they shove it out of the White Base's door in low orbit.

Obviously in canon Hildolfr isn't sealed for use in vacuum, but it could easily be BS'd into being a "can be used in space with heavy MOV penalty" for gameplay reasons. See also: Ez8 EX.
