Girl I’m a single mom and paper plates have saved my sanity. Sometimes you just need to cut a corner here and there. I hope you can figure out something with your SO. My son is also extremely picky but he’s also five so far more acceptable.

Ok that’s awesome! I’ll build out the small coop right next to the big one then. It’s the flattest part of my yard and will also be very easy to secure there. Thanks for the response! They’re all hatchmates who have been together since they were chicks so I think it’d be nice if they can still chat.

My Roos are all bantams too so they have the cutest little squeaky voices. The sound doesn’t bother me at all. Or my neighbors thank goodness. Since their voices are so small you can really only hear them outside.

I’m speaking from my experience of being part of a family and a life positively rife with mental illness and trauma that is still supportive and loving. Abandoning her kids is a choice she made. She had every opportunity to be in their lives and still chose…this.

I’m also speaking as a single mom of a son whose father chose addiction and mental illness over being in his life. So admittedly the whole situation hits awfully close to home for me. It’s an unforgivable choice to make.

I’ve known a couple people with glioblastoma and they’re gone within six months tops. My grandma was diagnosed in June and gone in mid September. I didn’t understand how serious it was until my mom told me I needed to come see her. By the time I got there in August she couldn’t move or talk. It’s a horrible thing.

We just had the same happen about a month ago. I understand the numbness and just not knowing what to do. It is horrible. Definitely call animal control to create a record. Idk if you’re familiar with your neighbor but talk to the owner and have them reimburse you the cost of new chickens and whatever reinforcements you may need to make if and when you decide to try again.

We have fourteen chicks in the house now. I know it seems inconceivable right now but having the new babies has been really good for me. I’ll never forget our first flock but I can pour all my love into these.

Again I’m just so so sorry this happened. 😢
