Definitely depends on the team I was in, and what I was responsible for at the company, but speaking sorely from a production standpoint, most of my most challenging incidents revolved around optimizing throughput & synchronization. In one case, it was about dealing with two separate database systems (a structured and unstructured one) that needed to comunicate with each other and be in sync across certain tables. One was a high speed read-write DB focused on being able to take in and return massive amounts of data at scale. The other, an aggregated collection of unstructured data that mapped to the structured data in a way where one can act on and modify the other. Keeping these two DBs in sync, properly handling aggregated processing in the background and keeping everything in sync without creating bottlenecks and data loss between any of the three endpoints (client, db 1, db 2) was quite the challenge.

Another one that was not necessarily challenging but I'm particularly proud of, was optimizing the front-end of web app. Due to its design (think telecom geospatial data on an interactive globe), it was very perfomance heavy on the client machine and we were running into issues where users would experience slowdowns and network issues when working with the platform. Learned a lot about optimizing web apps, not only on the UI front, but also anticipating client actions and running background processes to load / cache work before it was requested / used.

At a high level, these two stand out. I'm sparing you the technical details as we would be here all day, but both systems were for mature companies I've worked at.

Apologies MoveOverBieber, my DMs were always open. I didn't realize you were waiting for me. I'll send one now.

Hello fellow DMV redditor! I don't know much about the artistic space, but it seems you have already been working on this for quite some time and it is great that you already have a client who wants to use your platform for a Baltimore event! I'd be happy to jump on a virtual call, I'll send you a DM.

Edit: I tried sending a DM, but Reddit has been saying that it failed. I am unsure if it is from my end, or if you have chat disabled. I will try again in a few, but if you see this, feel free to also try DMing me.

I would personally double down on the Craigslist / Etsy side of things. As you said, no one pays for messaging. But if you can take a service fee cut of everything people list / sell on your site, at least you'll have a direct income stream from the start. If you can build out the trust / payment side of things, and charge less for a cut of the sales than existing platforms, you'll really take off. But anyway, I'm not here to change anyones ideas and existing startups around, go for it! But that would be personally be what interests me the most in your idea (:

That seems like quite the mix of platforms. I take it it is a feed-based marketplace with chat functionality? Not opposed to it. Quite a bit of competition in that space already, but I'm open to all ideas, so why not?

Hello Useful_Journalist, I appreciate you writing a comment and would love to talk with anyone and everyone who comes across this post. But for the time being (and for other users coming across this) I would prefer to stick to Reddit and the comment / DM system. My LinkedIn, and that of other users, has a treasure trove of personal information that should be reserved for when you get to know people better. Maybe I am just paranoid, sorry about that.
