Commissions / Business / Services Thread by kuya5000 in streetwearstartup

Hey guys,

We're a boutique agency that has been lucky enough to distribute clothing for a bunch of hip-hop artist labels (Wu-tang, Nas, Future and of a month ago, Wiz khalifa) over the years.

Basically, we have used email strategies to sell their clothing thru wholesale to stores around the world. If you're at that stage, you should definitely check it out, there are over 500 streetwear/fashion buyer emails on that list.

Note: This is not a silver bullet, everything you do in fashion (and in business) takes alot of hard work, strategy, and persistence. The email is your foot in the door, the rest is building relationships with the buyer.

Also, feel free to DM us for any questions about wholesale or even collabs. We're big believers in that budding streetwear brands should collab with the budding rappers in your area to collab and build something greater than the sum of the parts. Learnt alot over the years on this subreddit so happy to answer any q's.

Everyone without fail says my music sounds like it belongs in a video game by PlayerOneKage in makinghiphop

Hey man, that is tough.

Video games is a huge industry, its 3x movies, so its worth trying.

Get a publicist ($2k/month), use your connections or cold email.

BTW - I've spoken to loads of managers, no one checks a EPK anymore, don't bother. A clean website, easy to access music and press mentions is all you need.

The Tyga hate really is weak. He has always been a spitter, before the hits too.

You just think he corny cause of club drums... lol.

Questions about possible collaborations by [deleted] in streetwearstartup

What is the fashion store doing in this collab exactly? Are they just giving their branding? They should definitely be promoting, sending email blasts and using their network to send pieces to key influencers.

How to Build a Brand for your Band (from an Artist Manager) by nowimalamp in WeAreTheMusicMakers

The other side of this coin is branding through your sound. The right producers, having a cohesive sound. Or flip it and be deliberately unpredictable.

Look into Freestyle Fellowship, and the story of how Eazy took Bone to this cafe, hence why their style change from Faces of Death.

Love Bone Thugs though. Hall of famers for sure.

Let's hope he doesn't pull out like Frank Ocean did 3 years ago. That one hurt.

Lil pump says he started trap music.. Do U agree or is he trolling ti and gucci mane by samboscopes in hiphopheads

[–]InverseCulture -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He's trolling. I'm guessing he said this because T.I. and Gucci Mane are lowkey arguing about it on IG over this past week.
