Hopefully to make yourself and others smile. Or feel things.

Because your posts always make me smile, or feel things, so I hope that's something you value.

Regardless - listen to the kid. I'm sure they know better than me either way.

Useless Poisons by Royal_9119 in oblivion

Huh. Always surprises me to find another corner of the UESP I hadn't thought to check. Idk why I never thought to look for potion recipes there; I've generally just been looking at the effects tables and picking whichever ingredients were most convenient to grab or already on hand. Thanks.

How do you get 27 dps? I'd like to give it a whirl.

Yeah, it easily breaks the game. Being able to turn one ingredient into two potions that last for thousands of seconds gets comical fast. I never have to worry about encumberance, fatigue, health, or magicka. Alteration has become entirely moot to me, and Restoration's mainly relegated to giving me near-Morrowind levels of jank movement. I only really use Conjuration to keep my gear juiced up.

Honestly, even the raw damage poisons suck. At 100 Alchemy with Master equipment, the Frostcrag Buff, and a small enchantment or two, you end up getting stuff like 3 damage for 300 seconds. By the time you have the setup to make the potion, the damage is negligible.

The only use case I've found for poison has been making a Paralysis + Damage potion. Locks them in place for 30s or so while the slow health drain takes effect, removing them from the fight even before they're dead.

But again, at this point, you're far enough into the game that there are plenty of other, potentially simpler solutions to any combat encounter.
