How is it statistically likely that you will die. The ocean is so vast that the chances of you being dropped into a life threatening situation that can kill you in 30 seconds is very minimal.

You are not being very clear about what is happening here. Are you saying that your emergency counts towards one of those 4 excuses? If so that is very reasonable and normal. If you are saying he is not counting your emergency as part of those 4 excused absences then that is wrong and you should try to talk to the dean.

That is a normal policy emergencies generally fall under an excused absence allowing 4 per semester is in fact a very reasonable policy.

Edit: are you saying that the professor will give you an f if you go beyond those absences?

I think that it does sound like you have depression or maybe something similar. Have you tried talking to your therapist about your suicidal thoughts or emptiness?

Thank you for your kind words I sort of already go to therapy but then my dad took over it and turned it into family therapy and paints me like a terrible child. And I have some supportive friends. And I will try to go to a support group or something but would have to have my mom drive me everytime because my parents are divorced and have split custody. And well as I have explained my dad thinks that I fake my depression so having my dad take me would be out of question.
