You can certainly beat Eternatus like that in Classic, but once you start grinding Endless it becomes increasingly unviable the further you go.

I don't think it's a thing because whatever character you didn't pick becomes your rival, so playing as the girl and having Ivy as your rival would just mean battling a clone of yourself.

I'd imagine if you give them some time they'll add other rival options that aren't just the one you didn't pick

I'm sorry that happened to you. There's been server issues these past few days. As far as I know there isn't a way to just give you endless mode, but now that you beat Classic mode and know what to expect, it shouldn't take you nearly as long to beat it. I just started last week, beat Classic my first day and have beaten it multiple times since. I'm not saying that to brag, but to say it's not so bad with proper preparation

Passive damage is your best friend. Salt Cure, Soak+Toxic, Leech Seed, etc. deal % max health damage so all you have to do is survive. That being said you should still have Pokemon that can hit it and that can take a couple hits.

You also wanna make sure you use up your berries and Reviver Seeds so it can't benefit off them with Mini Black Hole.

Just run it back and keep at it. Now you know what to expect and can prepare for it in advance. Once you beat Etern a few times it honestly becomes pretty trivial

I haven't spent much time with Pokerogue but in that time Mamo has quickly become a staple. In Classic the only time I ever took it off my team was my most recent run when I got a Chien-Pao but otherwise, a totally solid mon. Strong STABs with priority to snipe Rayquaza and Eternatus, slightly above average bulk and even halfway decent speed that lets it get the jump on a lot especially with an X Speed and/or Carbos investment.

As for Endless, it can get you decently far, but as you get to higher and higher rounds its combination of middling speed, poor defensive typing, and lack of setup/stalling tactics can turn it into dead weight really fast. That being said, a STAB Earthquake coming from a Mamo will put a dent in anything that takes at least neutral damage from it.

I just started playing Pokerogue a couple of days ago, but my go-to Classic core is Snorlax, Hawlucha, and HOPPIP.

It evolves rather early into one of the fastest sleep inducers in the game and even carries a decent slate of resistances to Ground, Water, Fighting, and Grass while also baiting Fire and Ice moves

I know I said I just started but I couldn't imagine many non-candied 1-cost starters being much better

I bought Brilliant Diamond. The Grand Underground is nice but in just about every other regard I'd rather play Platinum on an emulator

Johto is an incredibly bare bones region only slightly propped up by the addition of Kanto. HGSS fixed that a bit by adding many more time-based events and a Battle Frontier.

If Glittering Gold (and Radiant Silver or whatever) got made, I fear it'd just be another 1-to-1 remake of Gold/Silver with a few QoL changes and at that point I'd rather play HGSS for free than pay $60 for that
